Google Apologizes.

There's been a lot of anger and frustration since the Florida Updates. Apparently, Google understands the fact that people's businesses rely on Google results. Craig Nevill-Manning, Google's Senior Research Scientist, said, for what it's worth, "I apologize for the roller coaster. We're aware that changes in the algorithm affect people's livelihoods. We don't make changes lightly."

A two month old site of mine just went PR6 and #2 for a decent search term.
Lots of blog links.

I don't see that as an apology. He says that serious changes were made and they didn't make this decision lightly. I don't see them saying the changes were a bad thing or wanting to revert back to an older index.

I have one kid in high school and one kid in grade 8. During recent parent/teacher interviews I was told that the school would not be using Google for research anymore (I didn't ask about this - they went out of their way to assure me), and Satec (where my son will be going next year) is going to block Google from their network.

Hey, its rocking now. But the kids know its a piece of shit.

There's really no need to apologize. If advertisers want people to know their product, they should buy advertising.

Google's primary loyalty should be the people using their site to search.
