Why is GFY SPAMMING me?

I started receiving yesterday spam form GFY (aimed most probably at some bored people with too much time on their hand, so much so that they are supposedly interested in getting daily spam from GFY sent to [email protected])

WHY?

I never signed up for that shit (which makes it SPAM!)

Not only that - but there is no removal link in that spam and no removal instruction.
Not only that, but I replied asking to be removed and today I got another SPAM.

And the funny thing is - the spam includes the "top 10" threads from GFY - sent to me - where, when I want to receive emails about threads I care abouts from message boards out there, I go to http://www.************.com and choose to receive email alerts.

Anyone else gets this SPAM?

One request if I may (on a day where so many threads here on GFY are about SPAM and how much spammers should be punished) - PLEASE, if you SPAM, at least include a removal link.

You signed up for GFY, didn't you?
It's not spam, asswipe.

Didn't you ever look in your GFY profile settings?
There is an option to NOT receive messages from the board.
Mine is set to NOT receive.

I doubt it.
Mine are also set as such, and I haven't received any emails.

Now - that's very smart of you - isn't it?
Doubt it not - mine is set to not receive emails and I did.
(Maybe you are just a lucky fella)

hehe. That is actually both sad and funny - but very true.
I care because the first 1000 pissed me off so much that the 1001 was too much to take ;)

Still doesn't matter, all emails need to have a remove option otherwise they're considered spam. :)

Cheers,
Matt

Says who?
Spam is unsolicited, commercial email by most people's definitions.

This is a newsletter from a message forum you participate in.

If numbnuts had bothered to do a search before posting like an asswipe, he'd have seen Lensman's posts saying that the remove link is on it's way, and in the meantime, you can reply to the email and ask to be removed.

If braindeads had instinct telling them to read a post so they can see that a request for removal was sent and the spam is unsolicited - commercial or not maybe the world would have been a better place?
And if those same jokers realized that there in nothing uncommercial about GFY, they might have been more quiet.
And if those same clowns would realize that some people don't spend their lives reading lensmen's posts all day like its an interesting book or a way of life, maybe they would have been less dumb replies here?

And if someone would realize that its better to wait with SPAM until they have a remove-me link rather than waiting with the remove-me link while SPAMMING this thread wouldn't have existed?

Are you so protective and understanding about this SPAMMING because your company SPAMs as well? Otherwise how come you are so calm about it? Or is it bad only when you receive the spam?

Point is simple - SPAM is bad (for those of us not making our money from it). And companies in our industries that want to call themselves respectable shouldn't be doing it. AND if they for some strange reason have no choice but doing it, at least include a removal link or removal instruction AND if for some strange reason your programmer is sick this week and the last think on his TODO list - which is the remove function (which takes about an hour to add) - is not yet done, WAIT WITH THE FUCKING SPAM UNTIL HE HEALS UP :2 cents:

Really? Good to know.
And how do you know that?

AND

if you already know that for some magical reason - why won't you share it with us because at least one of us (me) have no idea how?
