National Baseball League For Negros
 

Walked into a pathmark supermarket in my area and saw a black guy standing with his back toward me.

The back of his jacket read "National Baseball League For Negros" or some shit like that.

Now it doesnt bother me much to see them organize groups and activities for specific races, infact i like the idea of them (or any race) helping each other.

But the fact stands, if I were the one wearing a jacket saying "Baseball For White People" or something, i would either be arrested, shot, stabbed, or have shit thrown at me.

He didnt look like a "niger", or low class at all, infact he looked like a clean cut guy. But i think thats a bit fucked up.

Perhaps his jacket was a reference to the old negro league. You should have talked to him, asked him about it, and voiced your concerns.

i love reading richs threads..obviously someone looking through life through a wine glass...get out some and take a look at the fashion trends...Negro league baseball attire has been around since the early 90's

His only real experiences with black people have been while watching the Huxtables on Nick at Nite and wondering where he could pick up some of those fashionable sweaters ;)

Maybe the jacket commemorates the "Negro League" -- due to segregation, many talented black players were relegated to this baseball league. It was only until Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball that the League disappeared.
