This would probably signal an exodus to offshore BP hosts. Also, proxy bots would be put to work on overdrive to scour fresh IPs.
I wonder if CAN SPAM will create dramatic waves as well. Knowing the US Attorney General's zeal... don't be surprised to see hundreds of people getting arrested and charged at the same time (and that's just for starters). However, when things die down, most of the operations will be moved offshore and the battle will take place in putting together an international Internet business standard. Good luck with that... it will take damn near forever. |

they should be locking up those companies ppl who profit from hijacking ppls browsers and installing software automatically on ppls computers before they even worry about spam, spam may be annoying but this other shit is totally violating.
|
Those guys will not serve prison time. Reality is they will be slapped on the hand with a $10,000 - $100,000 fine and be released.
From there they will go back to spamming and make back that fine amount in about 2 or 3 days. |

"Gaven Stubberfield is number eight on the top 10 worldwide spammer list," said Kilgore, citing complaints reported to Internet service providers and tabulated by spamhaus.org. Between July 11 and Aug. 11, more than 100,000 complaints on spam messages linked to the two men were reported, Kilgore said. On at least three days, more than 10,000 messages were transmitted. What did I miss??? |

It also says they are amongst the top 10 spammers in the world. Do you think the top ten spammers in the world send out only 10k emails in a period of 3 days? I wouldnt be surprised if they got 10k+ complaints per day. |

There Are all kinds of tools for parents to monitor thier children online and if the dont they are idots too. You show me a tool to stop people from sending that shit to my house. The point is jail for spam is bullshit. |
Everybody get your panties out of a bunch. It was 10,000 COMPLAINTS, and if you can't see that you need to brush up on comprehension.
Also, "According to Kilgore, Virginia has the strongest anti-spam law in the country. While other states can take civil actions, Virginia is the only one that can prosecute spammers for violating specific criminal charges related to the activity. " Woopty fucking doo. So it's illegal in one state, I'm sure every spammer lives there. |
Long live spam.

Twisty you have an anger issue towards spam. Get therapy as it is way past funny.
Any parent who lets there kid have an unattended email account is a fucking idiot. Spam is the least of the problems with that. So it is irritating and I don't like it but fine the bastards and close them down. Let them do workhouse time for 6 months or whatever. This would suck and guys who have hit it hard the last few years would retire and it would be only kids and offshore stuff left. |
