changes in the porn industry?

What changes, if any, do you see in the next year? 5 years? 10 years? in online porn?

Do you think that something big will happen and will change the face of online porn?

SlutFinder 12-10-2003 12:59 AM

I do, i think the mobile revolution is not fully here yet and i think we will move allot more towards that soon, like video on demand on cell phones etc.

But as for the online industry specificaly.. i think it will be as it is for a while yet

Anothers 12-10-2003 01:21 AM

5 years -> cheap and very fast internet access for everyone and everywhere (wireless) -> advertising changes (for example when you step in to local night club your "cellphoneputer in your handwatch" will show you live video adverts from local escorts (maybe direct to your sun glasses)

10 years -> much faster procesors and huge RAM's (maybe optical not semiconductor technology and harddrives will be more like RAM today) -> custom content shoot will be more like "3d studio hyper xp mx 2015" job then real shoot

Zappu 12-10-2003 01:26 AM

I think as much better the connections for the users will get as much more porn will be moved to the net. I can see in 5 to 10 years that the narrow TV will become more and more public and the different entertainment parts like tv, internet, dvd etc will grow together much more

modelgigtalent 12-10-2003 01:30 AM

Internet porn will become more and more like tv quality.....
DVD's and VHS sales will go waaaaay down.
Magazines are already dropping like flies.

Both of the answers so far were about hardware not porn.

The Internet in the next couple of years will evolve into a major vehicle to deliver porn to the consumer. The surfer is already getting educated to what he should expect and will demand that he get's it when he pays hit $30 a month.

Also more of the ""Professional Pornographers" will look at this market and decide it's time to have some. Revenues are fallling in both the two traditional delivery methods, magazine and video. They will come and develope their own sites, some will fail in the begining and some will not.

Better sites will go to the top of the pile and those trying to convert him with tricks and flash methods will whither and though not die will become less relevent. This will mean a lot less companies publishing Interent porn.

For those left it will mean larger revenues and Goliaths will evolve in the market. The day of someone putting up a paysite with 200 sets and making it work are gone. In the future it will need 1,000 sets to get anything at all.

There will still be the small players at the edge, but they will have less influence and probably be confined to driving traffic to the bigger companies.

This is assuming we crush Acacia and the other companies with BS patents don't see us as "Low Hanging Fruit". If that happens the supply of porn on the net will move away from the US, or those in the US will be paying 10% to be in business.

The XG12 BioMed Integrated Media Chipset will be mainstream and the web as we know it will have died. Simply stroking your cock in a particular direction will engage the XG12. At that point, a BioBabe will appear in the strokers optic channel and lock on to the users virtual cock for one wild virtual BJ. Consider this prior art.

More ways around visa hopefully!

- AFN - 12-10-2003 04:18 AM

Death of affiliate programs due to antispam laws. Rise of small micropayment networks.

I plan to be one of those people that care about the customer. As a matter of fact I am going to do better gallerys, and think about what the customer wants. I have a baby to support who I love very much and he deserves a good future. I got hacked into by a large company and I am very confused...What are they so afraid of? This is a sick sad world.

I think they will even increase

silentkey 12-10-2003 06:39 AM

Free sites will disapear.

Veterans Day 12-10-2003 06:44 AM

freesites wont disappear unless litigation decides that, I dont understand everyones "ways around visa", they are THE player, will continue to be the player. Cellphone porn is retarded, looking at a 1.5" screen is stupid and dont see it be a viable vehicle. :2 cents:

frippeno 12-10-2003 06:56 AM

What Charly said :) This industry will mature in much the same way others do.

Turf 12-12-2003 03:36 AM

in some if not all niches, the affiliated programs will become invite only... Not like today where every mofo can sign up as an affiliate and start spamming away..

This is also done to ensure that chargebacks will be lower and more stable.

:2 cents:

Hahaha good one!

I also think that the bandwith will be much more cheaper, and everybody will be connected via high-speed connection, so the video will become the standarts.. I think :D

rooster 12-12-2003 09:44 AM

3rd party billing will disapear eventually in its current form. New billing methods will be born though.

I think search engine traffic for porn sites will for the most part disapear. It will be controlled by night surf type shit

Eventually putting hardcore on a freely accessed page will be a no-no.

There will be big guys and little guys. I dont think their will be many medium sized programs.

The bigger corporations are going to control the new cool technologies.

My advice: You have to know your niche and be the best at it.

NoAngel 12-12-2003 09:56 AM

Hmm, the mobile revolution will have for sure a big impact, also towards the content providers. New techniques are requireing a maximum flexibility and much faster production methods.
Some law regulations worldwide will thwart some plans of the adult community in general.
More and more smaller players will conquer the niche markets with exclusive and individual content.
And don't forget the digital revolution !
It has never been easier, faster and more uncomplicated to take pictures or video-clips for the broad public.
Especially in the younger generation almost everyone has a 3-5MP photocam, shooting almost everywhere and at all parties going on. Just for fun or for sharing it in the huge growing free photocommunities.
So the market will be overflooded with pics overall.
Which concepts will be the best to survive - the future will prove it
