PIBCASH support

First of all, let me introduce myself to some of you. Many of you know me already, and I hope that my reputation is good.

My name is Gregory Snyder, though I go by the nick of Big Lou, which was taken from an article I wrote in the December 1998 issue of National Lampoon. I am 41 years old and I am a writer, obscure character actor, singer/songwriter, Shakespearean scholar, former and sometimes teacher, and a Goodwill Ambassador for Japan (no kidding ? I have the medal and scroll to prove it.) Since September of 1997, I have also been someone who makes a living in the adult entertainment business. If you know me at all, it?s from my days selling memberships to avs services and as half-partner in the adult content business Hottiez, in which I recently ended my partnership to start Big Lou?s Adult Photography Service.

Because I do not believe in flame wars, I am going to make my post and let it stand. If any of you have opinions on the subject, feel free to send a polite email to biglousapsATaolDOTcom.
It is with great apprehension that I have seen the arrest, trial and conviction of PIBcash on this board. The evidence we have been presented is tenuous, at best. A novice could manipulate the screen caps that were shown to say anything that they wanted. However, we are not dealing with novices. We are industry professionals (I am using that term loosely after reading some of your posts) with an extensive knowledge of graphics, and there are very few of us who could not have produced the same result (if not better.) As far as having the domain of shavecash.com come from the state of Arizona, give me an hour and I can set up a domain that says its owner lives anywhere in the world. This is another trick any of us can do, and not a very good one.

You also accepted the facts without considering the source: a disgruntled employee, who has accused PIBcash of shaving. Upon first learning that this was someone that had not only been associated with the company, but had made attempts to blackmail them, I took a deep breath and shook my head. Something was just not right about this source. I am amazed that more of you didn?t have the same reaction (or maybe you did, but chose to stay in the silent majority.)

Many of you wondered why it took PIBcash so long to respond. Unlike you, PIBcash is a company with a lot to lose; they can?t just fly off the handle in an unprofessional manner when they are flamed on a webmaster board. I discovered this a long time ago when I started my content business, and was no longer just another avs webmaster. Many of you have the luxury of being able to say what you want, when you want, be it right or wrong. A company the size of PIBcash, or even Big Lou?s, does not have this luxury. They have to be very careful when defending themselves.

The parties I am most alarmed with are those people who posted flaming messages, while featuring the logo of a rival webmaster program beneath their text. These are hardly unbiased opinions in this discussion, and those who have their own webmaster affiliate programs should be very prescient of the fact that they might someday have a disgruntled employee leveling similar accusations with even thinner evidence. Perhaps they think that bringing one program down will help theirs, but that?s an awful way to do business and those posters should be ashamed.

I am not a disinterested party in this matter; I am working on a business venture with PIBcash, and at this point, the contracts have not yet been signed, the deal is not yet final. That being said, I am satisfied with the explanation given by Tom (SixPack.) It makes a lot more sense that anything else that has been posted on this board. I do not make this judgement lightly. Like a lot of you, I?m still smarting from my experience with an ex-avs that shall remain nameless (I say that because it appears that they do not like to be mentioned publicly, and I intend to give them their wish.) Because of the time, effort and financial resources that I will have to devote to my dealings with PIBcash, I think that I can say with great certainty that I have more to lose than any of you. I still intend to sell for PIBcash on my galleries and I am not at all deterred in my other dealings with the company. Some of you may consider me naive, but I?m not the one who has accepted a series of screen caps as hard evidence.

As for those of you who have convicted PIBcash in the court of public opinion, I would only ask that you monitor Porn Posse?s audit of PIBcash, then be so ardent in your opinion when the facts are known.

Big Lou

Only those that are incredibly dumb believe the whole PIB shaving thing. I know it's bullshit. Other real webmasters know it's bullshit. The only ones that believe it are newbies who couldn't send a join a month so their opinions are worthless. Rock on PIBcash...rock on.

do you not think they are damaged for a long time maybe forever now because of this?

liquidmoe 12-09-2003 09:46 PM

here is a question, if it is all lies of a disgruntled ex-employee are you going to be pursuing any legal action against them for libel or defamation? Because then you would need to prove in a court of law that in fact no shaving occured, and if all of this is just made up evidence you should be able to do that, clear your reputation, and send a message that blackmailing, lying, and otherwise deceitful actions lead to unwelcome consequences. Otherwise this just seems like more hot air.

Nope, not at all. The newbies all flock to controversy and believe everything that they read. In the grand scheme of things, do their opinions matter at all? Those who send the most joins know it's bullshit and will continue to push PIB. In fact, it could help them since all the newbies are promoting someone else now. More joins for the webmasters that actually matter. :thumbsup

Platinum Dave 12-09-2003 09:50 PM

Disgrunted employees suck ass, I know the feeling, lucky never had one do something melicious as this perhaps.

But I know Tam *briefly* she seems like someone that wouldnt do this.

Kimmy Kimmy brought up her name I dont even know if Tam is the employee you are talking about.

Sly_RJ 12-09-2003 09:50 PM

I'm not understanding this disgruntled ex-employee deal. It's been referenced that Tam is the person behind the "fake screen caps". Yet Tam hasn't said anything about this whole ordeal. Meanwhile, "Killah" has made posts regarding the screen caps and it's my understanding that he is also an ex-employee.

What's the deal? Which one are you blaming?

Weather its true or not the damage has been done. Even if its proven that they didn't shave how can they recover with the number of other affiliate programs out there? I hope that this isn't all bullshit becuase its not right to fuck with someones way to make a living.

I have no affiliation with PIB. I would like to hear why you think they are guilty other than the doctored "screenshots" that were posted. Frankly since you are associated with Platinumbucks I think it's unprofessional for you to get involved at all.

I am staying neutral. I never said I think PIB is guilty. I know the feeling of being attacked on the boards, its nasty and I feel for Rconn if this is truely all fake.

I own Platinum Bucks btw, more then affiliated with them :)

If they are innocent they should pursue legal action against people posting doctored screenshots as it obviously is going to have at least some detrimental affect on their business. If they don't do this then it's either they can't prove their case, or there is nothing to prove. But this is a serious matter because as much as forums are a playground at times, when shit like this comes out there will be repercussions. Will legal action be pursued ?

TheSenator 12-09-2003 09:59 PM

Good question. That would prove that they don't shave. My only guess is they can't prove who actually provided the screenshot.

True, but they certainly have a record of who posted the screen shot, who started accusations against them, and if those people acted on doctored evidence, whether or not they themselves doctored it, I think there is something of a case there. Im no legal expert, but certainly that sounds like there may be grounds for at least inquiring with a lawyer as to their options. And I'm pretty sure that if PIBcash is successful they probably have more money than whoever they will be suing, so it seems like a very good way to redeem their name.

Sure they lost a few webmasters regardless, even if they win their case, but it will at least get them flagged again as honest.

TheSenator 12-09-2003 10:05 PM

You obviously have no idea how an affiliate program is run.

If you dont know how much your reseller "brought" and what the "diff" was, then how are you supposed to know if you're making money or losing money?

Very true. If the screenshots are fake as I suspect then whoever posted them is guilty of libel and should pay as well as post a public apology and retract their statement. So how about it sixpack? Is this a possibility? I see a very clear way to save PIB's reputation.

Yup..the damage has been done in the short term..This will hopefully blow over when and if they are found innocent.Too many people jump on the band wagon and quick to point fingers when the company reps are busy doing damage control and not be able to explain their side of the story.. Sucks either way

Wow, PIB cash won't have a bunch of newbies who sign up and send 1 join a month, or sig whores flying their ref code on GFY, big deal. I doubt they've lost any real business over this. Offering to let top affiliates look at their admin area and having a 3rd party do audits is a lot more proof to me than screenshots from some scumbag trying to scam $1000 from webmasters and an employee who got the boot. :2 cents:

Talking about jimmy3way's part in this, he said he had real proof and he'd show it for a grand. He would've taken the money if someone offered it right away. How would you feel if you paid $1000 for that most likely fake screenshot? That's a scam.
