Major Sleeping Issues

Ok, since my break-in and the knowledge after the fact that this guy was in my place when I was...........I don't sleep. I have tried herbs, valium, allergy meds (benedryl) and NOTHING works. I feel like a walking corpse.... Any ideas? :helpme

I moved out of my old place into a new one in a very nice gated community, but now I have the "new place gitters".... I can't stay in bed at night and I want to drop during the day.... any solid advice would be appreciated.

freeadultcontent 12-09-2003 06:12 PM

shotgun next to bed, and ambien.

Adult Site Traffic 12-09-2003 06:14 PM

Go get yourself a nice Blue Heeler to sleep at your feet :thumbsup

They don't like strangers (or people they know even) very much :)

Herb Kornfield 12-09-2003 06:16 PM

Just time my friend until you are comfortable......

I lived in a duplex before I bought the home I live in now that got raided by the FBI. Turns out the guys upstairs were running MAJOR amounts of drugs in the area.

Never forget the raid, the 3 million cops, knowing you are being watched each day, every hour.....took a long time to get back to normal, but, you do in time.

Just take it one day at a time and all will be well......

Yeah, with my luck I would take the ambien, trip out and end up accidentally shooting myself. Not a good idea.:BangBang: I've tried ambien and I might as well have done a 10 lb bag of crack (not that I actually know what that is like) but I was bouncing around my house for hours on end.

I don't like guns. :(

JDog 12-09-2003 06:17 PM

I keep a gun, swords & bow & arrow next to my bed. I try to tell my self I'm safe if somebody breaks in!

I might take you up if you could give a massage from Canada... only a few thousand miles away.:(

NYQUIL: That stuff knocks me out for an hour and then I'm bouncing off the walls.......

I think I'm just temporarily screwed........... Almost falling alseep on my drive home from work......and oddly enough when I get home I get wired and get more work done than I did at the office.

NoCarrier 12-09-2003 06:47 PM

You're gonna have to learn or take some relaxation technique courses. No bullshit. Don't rely on drugs or herbs.

First of all ? Do you exercise at all? This should be priority one.

Ice 12-09-2003 06:47 PM

Move to Canada where there isn't crazy gun toting people everywhere :thumbsup

Brad-Wishing 12-09-2003 06:50 PM

No problem. Let's hook up. Oh shit.... I forgot you humans still have not developed telepathy.

Oh well! Maybe if you're reincarnated in a few thousand years it will have developed by evolution by then, and we will get together then! :)

I just started....... Brisk walking and yoga type movements... I've always been fairly thin so I didn't think it important until recently so I don't want to throw myself into something my heart can't handle.......need to work up to high impact. (I have a resting heart rate of 100 and have since I was a child).

FastAdultTraffic 12-09-2003 09:40 PM

Lots of good suggestions.

Here are mine, some of them repeats:

1. Get a handgun and learn how to use it. Buy an underbed finger-activated safe.

2. Get a reasonable security system with window/door sensors and motion detection.

3. Get a dog and train him. I can't explain how much security having a rottweiler, german shephard, boxer, or other 'protective' dog will do for you.

4. Work out. Great suggestion.

5. Take defensive training. Martial arts, etc. Watch that lame-ass Jennifer Lopez movie for inspiration.

6. Get a man. Someone sleeping in your bed [with your dog to guard him] should make you feel safer.

7. Go to a doctor. Tell him you need to sleep. They have drugs for that shit.

Good luck. Bad things suck.

cluck 12-09-2003 09:45 PM

RX and OTC drugs for sleep suck major ass. It's all bullshit. I'm like you but always like that, not from stress or anything. I could crush up and rail 10 of the biggest ambien pills they sell and be up for another 12 hours walking around my neighborhood like I was on dust. All I remember from that was jumping off park benches while smoking cigarettes. I'd also wake up with cigarette burns in my carpet and everything.

Take melatonin. One of the 3mg pills should have you asleep within a half hour and keep you asleep for the night. It's like $0.10 a pill in the supermarket. Any of the generic brands are fine.

Marijuana would help too, but the melatonin is good enough :thumbsup

Hey Angel eyes,
I've been having the same problem but I think its stress related. My problem is not actually going to sleep but sleeping in, I wake up every morning at like 7-8 am even on the weekends!! I've tried alot of the same things you have tried,I even got some sleeping pills but they weren't very effective. I'm not sure what to do,I heard that ear plugs work well and also I hear that there are lots of different pills out there, maybe try some till ya find the right one.I hate to tell some to do drugs but It might be our only hope.
good luck
:thumbsup

strobi 12-10-2003 11:42 AM

Get a dog (big one) and you'll feel safe 24/7:thumbsup

howard 12-10-2003 05:29 PM

Hey angel eyes,

blue zanax--works like a charm. a half works for me for 9 hours

full one 12 hours. And I feel no side effects when I wake up.

But when you take them you should go to bed early so you get enough sleep. You can't take them at midnight and sleep till 7ish then you would be out of it the next day..

H

Ps--i'll throw some in my bag..see ya soon

howard 12-10-2003 05:35 PM

1 more thing--i know other people said it but get a dog.
Nobody knows more about them than Boss man--talk to him.

I have a black lab. Nobody gets close to my house without him letting me know. And his bark his loud enough to scare anybody and there isn't a friendlier breed!!

Pit Bulls are very friendly and smart too. Very alert dogs. One of the best around. Boxers do very well to , very smart, easy to train, but not as great for defense.

Hmm arent the blue's .25 mg . I would need a whole bottle of them before i felt anything.

I think her main problem is anxiety and panic attacks . For that she might need something quicker like sublingual lorazepam. ( they dissolve under your tongue and go to work in 5 minutes )

BTW--I take them once or twice a week. They work like clockwork for me. I really feel rested the next day too. I usually take them an hour or 2 before I go to bed. Great for flying long trips too!!

angeleyes, here is a drug-free solution

Order the "sleeping through the rain" relaxation CD at the link below.

It works for a lot of ppl with insomnia or pain.

http://www.hemi-sync.com/shop/

under CD's /METAMUSIC :thumbsup

angeleyes 12-10-2003 06:20 PM

Most of you already know this.......sleep goes in 90 minute cycles. You begin in Beta Waves, Alpha Waves, Delta Waves, and wrap up in REM and repeat all night. My problem is I linger in Beta and REM which after even 12 hours of tossing and turning isn't beneficial. I need to get into those beneficial Alpha/Delta Waves. I'm immune to benzo's.

gin 12-10-2003 06:21 PM

i can never sleep either.. im used to tweeking and staying up for weeks.. so i went to some lady and she gave me these pills.. they put me to sleep good as fuck :thumbsup goto some doctor and get some sleeping pills.. mine are the size of O <=- that and put me to sleep crashed out in under 45 mins they are cool :glugglug

angeleyes, sounds like you are into this stuff.
You should definitely check the link I posted.

The CD has audio to adjust your brain waves but nothing subliminal :)

sumphatpimp 12-10-2003 06:30 PM

appears this break in has you pretty upset.

why fart around with this?

see a for real doctor with a MD and a license to practice medicine, this isn't something to fart around with on a board, you got to see a real doctor before it becomes a lot worse.

this just could be post tramatic stress disorder and if untreated it can get alot worse and harder to cure.

don't fuck around, get it fixed now.
