My girl is really sick ... cold like stuff... we need to cure this asap ... she doesnt drink so please no ' drink booze ' stuff

Sore throat? Lemon juice and honey in chamomile tea. It's hot and will soothe and coat her throat and make her sleepy.

Cough? Mint and honey tea. Muellin tea works well too.

Fever? Let it burn, just not too hot. That menas the body is fighting something. If she gets too hot, a cool rag on the back of her neck will help. Take two Tylenol to keep the fever to a reasonable level.

Lots of water. Plenty of orange juice (unless she has a sore throat). Halls.

If you find a miracle recipe that will cure the cold and flu viruses FAST without a Flu shot. Don't tell anyone. Because you are about to become the richest person on the planet.

Rest + Lots of water + acetaminophen and /or NyQuil (TO RELIEVE SYMPTOMS) is the only thing you can do.

A couple of days.

The bullshit grandma recipes don't work. Sorry. You can still eat all your onions, Jack Daniels stuff. That won't change a thing.

I've had two days of this and spent Sunday alllllll day in bed. Bones aching, headache, nausea.......it's like torture to me.

Uhm, antibiotics?

There is a NASTY flu bug going around here in Vegas. I caught it a couple of days ago and I'm already feeling better whereas some people have had to see a doctor. My cure: Lots of OJ and Water and 1.5x dose of NyQuil at 9:30 at night. I'm out at 10 and sleep until 6am. I feel better every single day.

NyQuil is GOD.

As Dennis Leary used it say; "For all you recovering alcoholics, NyQuil is the 13th f*ckin step!"

Treat the symptoms, and hit 'em with everything you can get. Whoever said let a fever burn is crazy.

Otherwise, try Tamaflu ( by rx), it can shorten the duration of FLU.

You should be using Zicam nose gunk to keep you from getting it. That stuff really works. I've been a fan for a couple of years. If you are exposed to someone sick, use a qtip to put that stuff in your nose.

I had it and my girl friend... We both ended up with a doctors call and took the antibiotics. They didn't seem to really solve much for me. It was a virus. Symptom relief is all ya can go for + sleep + fluids. What they said above..

The point is, there is no quick cure for the damn thing and it sucks!

Quick cure for a cold:
Dice a couple onions finely - Put into a dish and cover with a good amount of sugar (Half the weight of the onions)
Leave for a few hours and drink the juice -

Flue:

Get a jar of lose honey - Throw away half - Finely dice a whole bulb of garlic and add to the honey - Top up with neat vodka (95% spriritus is best) Shake well, and take a tablespoonful every two hours.

Guts ache - Quater ripe wallnuts (green casing too) Add to half a bottle of vodka or spritus until full - Leave for 3 months - A spoonfull cures the worst gut ache possible.

Zicam kicks ass. Only part I don't like is shooting that gel up my nose.

I squirt it onto the end of a q-tip and then apply it to my nose.

never heard of zicam, I don't think we have it in Canada, but I'm sick right now and rest, tons of H2O, lots of vitamin C, I take echinaeca daily, and gargle with salt water as soon as u feel a scratchy throat...don't forget lots of soup...:)

if it is the flu I have forget it just get her into bed to rest right away.
