To all photographers and content providers...
Maybe you don't want the consumers opinion...I know webmasters could care less...but the reason a person buys/looks at porn is to get off right? Ok, this is why webmasters don't give a flying fuck. The consumer is just a monetary number to them. Maybe it is to you too, I don't know, as I have never been a photographer.
In normal business though, the customers wants and needs come first, or you don't sell shit. I realize the average porn customer is motivated by hormones, and makes impulsive buying desisions, and that is why you (the webmaster) have two or three small boxes that if they don't uncheck them, they get charged $50 a pop. Does anyone at all care what the customer wants? As a photographer, I think I would, purely out of artistic reasons, though playboy is not what I call artistic...(Different subject) What I want when I look at porn is a girl in a position I can imagine myself fucking her in. (I prefer from behind, but that's just me) I don't want to see her legs crossed so I could not (in my imagination) get to her with my dick. Not hardwood floors, not concrete driveways, not on the stairs, but in a soft bed for my knees, or on a couch, etc. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE A DILDO. Not only does that threaten most men in some ego way, but it just gets in the way of the imaginary fuck that porn is there for. I want to imagine myself in her, not having to move some pretend dick out of the way first. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE GUYS FACE EVERY OTHER MINUTE. (Video) Who gives a damn what the guy is thinking, feeling, looking like or screaming about. That would be for the gay porn. DUH! Those in porn (webmasters) get tired of the same old stuff, and most will say a little clothing is a great thing. That's fine, and sexy. But take off the damn panties! Have YOU ever fucked a girl while she still has her panties on, even if they are to the side? It soaks up the lube and makes it a rather bad experience. Imagination makes the yank... Why doesn't anyone else say these things? How are they ever going to know what we want if we don't tell them? How can we ever get them to care when all they see are dollar signs? Maybe 17 year olds get off on just whatever comes thier way, but the rest of us want real action out of porn. You want to increase your monthly money base? Give us what we really want. Forget the artsy farsty crap and give us a good fuck. Signed, a porn addict... |
I know there are people who are lovers of some type or other of fetish, and that isn't what I was addressing here. So forgive that part of it.
Does anyone agree or disagree or is the webmaster view so ingrained that no one cares one way or another? |
Can I spam my program referrals?
|
Huh???
I am not spamming anything. I am just trying to get my opinion out to those that actually make the porn that I watch. |
You are speaking my language Katman.
However a lot of webmasters buy on price alone. Which is cool if you are doing a filler part of your site. But no good to convert and keep a surfer paying. They will then even it out by throwing as much traffic at it as possible. The quality of the PORN is why some sites convert 1 : 1,000 and others 1: 100 What is porn? This is the best way to describe it. I'm looking at two pictures of two similar looking pretty girls naked. One makes me think "I would fuck her" the other make me think "She will fuck me" Which one do you think is porn? Your only points where you are wrong are about dildos and panties. Most guys like to see a girl using a dildo, insertion is intrigueing to a guy and pulling the panties over at the beginning of a shoot works. But now we are down to personal tastes and there is nothing more personal than jerking off. |
Thank you for speaking up on this issue. I cannot really dissagree, only say what aggravates me when "Jerking off".
I know fetishes come into play also, and I know the quantity and all that too. I was in the business, though some would say I was a failure...yes, a failure because I looked at the business the way someday it will be looked at by everyone...the customer actually matters. I suppose this thread may be more about the fact that no one seems to ever care what the customer wants. What they are willing to buy and what they really want may be two different things. |
But as I thought, most don't care about the subject. Don't care about the consumer, only the immediate profit. Mark my words...it's gonna bite everone in the ass one day.
Someday everyone is going to have to deal with making quality sites and having quality content because no one is gonna buy the crap everyone is selling. People are gonna get wise to the dialers, the small check boxes, the sales lines and the lies and come looking for something better. The days of the quick scam are going to be over. If you guys don't police yourself, the government eventually will. It goes more that direction everyday but no one wants to see the big picture...just the fast buck. I guess I am just pissing in the wind. I have to try once in a while though. Call it a thermomitor of the human condition. I check once in a while just to see it things are turning around yet. When it starts though, I will be the rich one and you will be looking for your next meal. (I wont have a guilty concience about all the people I have screwed to get a few bucks either.) |
I feel your pain.

@katman
You are right :), but do not forget to give the set a little story. Most of the stuff I can see is, that the set has not start and no end. You can flip in the set on every photo you like and you will have no idea where you are. We are doing also a lot of sells for magazines, but if a set is not in a story, no chance to sell it to any editor. And that is the problem with about 98% of the stuff which is around on the net |
www.povporn.com - porn from your point of view. What can I say? You said it all in 3 pages that was said here in 3 seconds... http://www.povporn.com/freebies/vide...rn-dot-com.wmv

katman, what you want may not be what others want, content is made for many niches, choose the ones you like and want to promote.
|
these things have been said over and over and like anything else in this business webmasters dont change, the same schmuck that fell for WSB fell for GloBill fell for PSW.
Same idiot that was told 100 times remove the guys nasty face off the trailers is out of biz. |

I am a content provider, and my client is the webmaster, or the magazine publisher. I can shoot "art" all freaking day, but I can't make a living at it because my clients don't buy it. I shoot what my clients buy because that is my business. I shoot about 10 different niches pretty proficiently, and a few others adequately. The "pretty girl begging for it" is just one of many kinds of things a content provider has to shoot to generate sales. Your perspective is very limited on what you "want to see", yet you seem to have no tolerance for any other interests out there. For example, I have shot BBW girls, and to some it seems a great waste of film, but to my clients that want them, what I can create is virtually as good as gold to them. Who is to say your turn ons are "correct", while other kinds of content is crap? Your entitled to your opinion, but don't preach it like gospel. *** Quote:
You sure lump a lot of different kind of shooters into one group when you say that everyone is selling and shooting crap. I can't speak for a lot of the others on this board (I only know a few other shooters here), but I have had sets published in over 30 different Adult Magazines titles, that's not 30 layouts, that 30 different titles. Telling me my material is crap is a slap in the face of my 30+ magazine editor customers, let alone the hundreds of webmasters that purchase image usage rights from me. Now if you want to pay for a custom shoot, I would be happy to shoot to your specs, but until then, I suggest you just surf for the stuff that turns your crank, and don't worry about how it gets shot. |
