Fast way to learn spanish?

I need to know the best way to become fluent in spanish in the shortest ammount of time possible. (aside from importing a spanish chick)

books?

I have a very basic understanding at this point... need to become fluent asap.

I watch Lucha Libre on galavision-it works because my knowledge of wrestling helps me understand the announcers-

I own Spanish.com. Trust me you have to be immersed. Hit me up if you want to learn how to spend a few weeks with a family in Mexico while getting lessons on the cheap.

I've been wondering how long it would take to learn Spanish. I have plenty of neighbors that speak it, problem is I don't like any of them so I never talk to them...

I was going to buy those "learn spanish in your car" cd's, but I figured it wouldn't help any.

I'm studing my 4th language now and trying to keep up the other 2. The more time you spend at it the faster you'll learn it. I had a friend that learned Spanish in 1 year perfectly. That's a language i'll be learning soon hopefully.

I've had good luck with the Pimsleur courses. Just listen to them when you drive around.

www.bigredgarage.com

has the courses for $200. just make copies and sell them back on ebay to get your money back.

take lessons, as many as possible, being in a spanish speaking country will help, but without lessons you won't get too far.

Immersion would be best for learning. That's what worked for me. Being dumped in Mexico with nobody who spoke Spanish for a month will surely put you on the right track.

Having grown up knowing Italian probably helped a bit too :Graucho
