Windown 2000 Technical Assistance needed.
My laptop just died. I do not have my floppy drive with me.
Can anybody point me to some instructions on how to make a bootable Win2K CDRom for repairing this? I have access to another Win2K machine and a non-bootable install disk. We managed to make a normal boot disk but when I try to run any command, it looks to the A: drive by default. Any help is appreciated. Format c: is not an option. :1orglaugh |
I got a big hammer in the garage

Find a actual bootdisk that boots? Like off a CD-ROM drive. Otherwise you are kind of screwed.
|
go into your bios. and make it look to the disk drive(probably d:) before the a: drive.

Now...Knowing that I do not have one here....Can you offer any suggestions of where to find the directions fopr making one? Why: Again...No shit. I need a bootable Win2K disk. I don't need directions on how to set my computer to boot from the CD. Please READ my question then offer assistance if you can. |
you can't 'make' a bootable windows cd, you can only make a 'ghost' of another hdd and boot from that, it 'might' work. gl.
