Hey peeps I have a client that sell gel candles and they want me to get them placed under the search box in one of the two colored sponsored matches. How they heck do I get them there?

Google Adwords is no longer accepting applications for its 2 premium sponsor slots, but keeping their existing premium sponsorship agreements active until the end of the year. However, if you raise your bid price enough and have a good clickthrough rate, they will sometimes automatically rotate you into that position, since your ad will be the most relevant.
