The watchdogs for Ontario consumers are hooked on porn. According to the provincial auditor's report, Ontario's Marketplace Standards and Services Division spent 95% of its inspection resources checking video stores for valid licences and ensuring adult videos were being sold with appropriate rating stickers attached.

The devotion to dirty movies -- 1,600 inspections -- comes despite receiving only eight complaints about video retailers and theatres in a year.

In contrast, the division received a total of 4,000 complaints in 2001-02 about debt collectors and conducted only 10 inspections of collection agencies.
