I don't know what caused it. She has never had one before. We were asleep and suddenly I woke up and she was jerking rhythmically and not breathing. Scared me to death! I did a search on Google and it said seizures in infants are usually caused by high fever (she doesn't have one), menengitis (she doesn't seem to be sick) or head trauma (nothing happened to her, she was sleeping soundly). I called the doctor a little while ago and she told me not to worry about it unless she starts running a fever or acting strangely (not eating, throwing up, sleeping too much, crying too much, etc.) She said if she has another one to bring her in, but she said that sometimes infants have small seizures for seemingly no reason, sometimes just immature nervous systems and such. I didn't think it was a really huge deal. My husband said he had seizures sometimes when he was a kid and nothing was wrong. But that kind of thing really scares a mom! (Of course, her dad was scared, too!)

It could be many things, but menengitis is very possible. I have two friends with small children, they did noy show any signs of being sick at all until they had a seizure. Children that young cant always tell you when they are sick. I would not wait one minute... take her to the doctor or hospital now. I hope everything is ok with her and its nothing. Seriously! I didn't think it was a really huge deal. My husband said he had seizures sometimes when he was a kid and nothing was wrong. But that kind of thing really scares a mom! (Of course, her dad was scared, too!)
