Battus, what is the best way to find an apartment in Amsterdam? Preferably a furnished one that already has a high-speed net connection.

Are there any good websites? Or are local newspapers the best way?

So a 1300 euro appartment will cost you the first month:

1300 rent
1300 broker free
2 months escrow = 1600

Total $4200 euros = 5k us :)

A good broker should help you when the owner tries to fuck you over. And this happens alot in Amsterdam.

Not giving back your escrow is a #1 problem.
If something in the house goes kaput and the owner needs to fix it and he wont.

Things like that.

Or after 3 months he sayd he will raise the rent with 200 bucks or you can leave.

Without a broker theres nothing you can do about shit like this.
And believe me, i speak from experience.

Amsterdam is the most fucked up city in Holland when it comes to rent and money and fucking people over.

Im sure i couldve found an appartment on my own but i chose not to do that because of the reasons above.
