The New "Battlestar Galactica"...

Okay I remember when the original aired. It wasn't that bad except for that 'daggit' which was obviously a chimp in a furry suit.

So the new Battlestar Galactica is going to premier.

Any fans around? Anybody see the previews?

Sweet I use to love that show... :thumbsup

When is the premiere?

I know that I can catch it on Space (Canadian sci-fi channel).

I loved that old show :thumbsup

I think it starts next Monday, December 8th.

Starbuck is a chick. The Cylons look just like people (cheap way to avoid new costumes). Edward James Olmos is Commander Adama. WTF ??!! Looks lame.

Yeah, it's starting to scare me. I thought it debuted tonight. The actors are all top knotch and that I like. What's bothering me is there are no asian or african males in there. The show is too canadian I guess that's why.

Cylon people? I dunno....

I'm going to give it 8:1 that it's gonna suck.

Like the original didn't... And does anyone remember the second series? :throwup

I am reserving judgement until I actually watch it. The new version has stripped away the Eqyptian mythos and has made it another space battle epic. I guess nobody would have watched it if they called it something else so they stuck Battlestar Galactica on it.

I do not mind the fact that Boomer and Starbuck are women. I do think it odd to have human-looking Cylons.

At least it is something besides another long week of Taken reruns :winkwink:

The original serious wasn't that bad - at least for kids of my generation who watched them premiere. At that point, no other weekly TV show had better effects. It got decent ratings too. The problem was cost, which was about 1 million an episode back then. They needed stellar ratings to keep it going. They reformulated show and tried to keep it going with new actors, and cost-cutting measures, but it was very weak.

Yeah I have to agree. I was ready to start a war when they debuted the new "Enterprise" and I still say it's stupid to go way back to before Star Trek began and take us places we'd already been, but it's the actors that saved that series for me. Same with DS9. The acting always saves the show. Let's see what these new galactica actors do.
