Never post ideas on message boards.

^ Started because of a post I made on an investing message board. Someone swooped in and opened up the site before I could. They already had another successful site too so there's no way I'm going to be able to compete :warning

Damn that's nuts. Good idea too.

Edit: And yes you could still compete. Marketing my friend, marketing. Hell, I'd buy one from 2 different places, it's not like it's a huge competition.

Veterans Day 12-02-2003 04:11 PM

make one that looks halfway professional, all these boxedart.com templates make it look god awful, not to mention the spelling errors everywhere. I would not be givin up much money to that site, but Im sure alot will:2 cents:

e-god 12-02-2003 05:29 PM

I have a nice domain for this thing :thumbsup

beemk 12-02-2003 05:32 PM

i didnt read the whole site over, but what kind of scam are they running?

e-god 12-02-2003 05:37 PM

Yea, that looks like a scam.
I am thinkinh to start a real one with not so unreal promisess. Just lottery. One day - one winner. (80% of profit to the winners and 20% to us(looking for a partner).

What do you think? Would it work?

Ic3m4nZ 12-02-2003 05:40 PM

Shame on you .. maybe this site is a scam

KC 12-02-2003 05:41 PM

What kind of moron expects that noone will copy a good idea posted in a public forum?

JDog 12-02-2003 05:42 PM

Yea, you're never suppose to post ideas on any type of message board, the best way to steal ideas!

Raf1 12-02-2003 06:45 PM

Great idea, but posting ideas on forums isn't smart...

EscortBiz 12-02-2003 06:53 PM

It's not how many ideas you have, its how many you make happen

from some TV commercial

the indigo 12-02-2003 07:08 PM

Dude, if there's 100000's of porn sites that can make money, you can make money from one of the 10's of lottery site using THAT idea.

The net is BIGGGGG.

Groove 12-02-2003 07:09 PM

Interesting idea BUT....

Unless there was a *HUGE* account balance the payouts would be peanuts. For example, let's say there was an average balance of $1,000,000 earning 5% interest, that's a $50,000/PA return of which 50% gets distributed, ie $25,000 divided by 365 for a daily prize of $68.50 :1orglaugh

The returns for something like that should be around 5-7% weekly so that split in half and given to one person would be decent. Of course it'd never work with a pool of $1,000,000, that's huge. When they started planning it they planned for about $7000 in ticket sales for each round, which would be $70/day interest.

Anyway mine will be better and generally more fun to play. :thumbsup
