I cant believe some fucker made a bunch of transactions from my paypal account! And I never click those fake emails... someone got my password and used my account. Anyone experienced this shit?
|
Never had that happen, but good luck with paypal, they were assholes with me on a couple small issues!

Now everything is pending reversed or being investigated... that means I dont get my money until they finish it, but that fucker is not touching it either. More money for paypal :321GFY
That money came from my CC, should I talk to my bank about it? |
Weak password?
Someone knows your email password or hacked it/password recoverd it? Someone knows your last 4 digits on your checking/creditcard? Sub7? Netbus? Thebeast? Nothing is 100% :ak47: |

I had $0 on the account, but he took $550 from the CC. I'll go to my bank in the morning and see if I can chargeback those transactions.
I'm afraid my paypal account will be blocked or something while they check it out. I got a mail asking me to send some signed papers by mail... I think this will become a nightmare. |
The credit card and bank should have been the first two things you did... CALL them. Shut off the source and THEN worry about the faucet leaking.

VERY good advice. Your CC company will be much faster and easier to get a refund from. |

too bad, it's universal now :( |
a while ago I got fucked through westernunion.com - First thing I did was call up my CC, and tell them the story.
they did a chargeback. A few months later, i get a notice from westernunion.com saying i owe them money, they aren't responsible for fraud. I said fuck it - they had the guys bank account, they could've helped me get my money back, they didn't do shit. For a while they harassed me with legal letters from a "Retained Attorney" - my opinion was the day they actually started legal proceedings would be the day I paid (as it was only a few hundred dollars total) To say the least, the letters stopped, nothing ever happened, and its been 2 years. - Fuck paypal, they should help YOU get your YOUR money back, it was THEIR lack of security that allowed this to happen, and thats the attitude you should take. Charge that shit back, then when the money is out of paypal's pocket, lets see how hard their fraud department works. :2 cents: This may not actually work, but hey - its a start. They will probably do the same thing... Just thought I'd share my experience. |

How difficult is it to get a paypal password...
I figure out what billing company you use for your websites payment proccessing. I obtain the scripts you use. I figure out that your transaction log is world readable and download it. Now I have your customers user/pass/email information. I also have their address/city/state/zip possibly I have their CC/CVV2/ExpDate... I rip the database for the email:pass and create a simple program to bruteforce paypals login screen. Out of your 200,000 past users I get 800 working paypals, 250 working epassportes, etc... easy as cheese... |
Charge it back on your Credit Card, but also phone Paypal and tell them what is happening. The problem from their end is at the moment they see it as a legit transaction the guy had all your details and now it's only your word that says it was wrong.
Look at it from two sides, it will give you a clearer picture and help you make better decisions. We were with Paypal, they eventually dropped us and they paid us all the money they owed us and well within the 180 days they state in their contract. |
