incorporating in canada

me and my buddy are beginning to plan to open up some exclusive content paysites but before we start i want to know if its even possible. i remember hearing that you had to have a presense in the US or EU to be incorporated with the CC billing companies. what do the canadian folks do to get around this? me and my buddy are both canadian citizens.

Canada is kind of fucked when it comes to third party billing and merchant accounts.

Many are using ProBilling...who does accept Canadian sites for processing.

To use Epoch or CCBill, you have to have a US presence, which means incorporating here in the US and having a valid tax id number and banking.

US, you need one of the ppl in charge of the company to be a US citizen, so that wouldn't work for you.

Rumors I have heard, you just need an EU corperation to use the european ones.

Gibraltar is aparently the country you want to incorperate in, b/c if you are a foreign presence, you can apply not to pay taxes there, and you don't have to collect the VAT, but Visa considers it part of EU visa.

yeah probilling, hmm. i wanted to go with epoch. with all the closings of these other billing companies i can't help but worry probilling isn't that safe. i guess that would mean needing a partner from the US.
