Marketing 101 questions
Yo
Anybody have any links to any market research as far as pricing? Ie: using whole numbers suchs as : Only 20 if you buy now!!!! or using 99 cents markings ie: Only 19.99 if you buy now My own personal experience has been that the .99 extension seems to lure people in more. Any thoughts? Opinions? Flames? Remarks on how sexy I am ? |
I read a study about this just a few months ago, but I can't remember where. hmmmmm

19.99 pure mind boggling looks far more cheaper than 20
look around you in the supermarket |

theres no difference between for example 24.95 and 29.95
there is between 29.95 and 30.. all confirmed and mass tested by mr thumbs |
I read an article awhile back that used marketing research done over a 4 year timeframe on luring mall and store shoppers to purchase.
It was really interesting in the fact that the numbers 7, 6 and 3 in a combination was a bigger draw than the .99. The .76 or .37 or whatever always got the most revenue. This is the research study that caused wal-marts 'slashing prices' campaign .. you'll notice they use those numbers ALOT now lol I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but its still relevant imho ya know juicy, the more I read your posts .. the more I like ya ... ah nevermind ;) |
