Bush whitehouse putting huge debt on America's children

The latest estimates are that amid the economic slowdown of the last two years, and all the new spending and tax cuts Bush has pursued, the federal debt could soar to at least $7 trillion by decade's end. That means future taxpayers will have to pay at least $350 billion a year to service that debt, precisely as they are shouldering big bills for homeland security, defense and retiring the baby boom.

To call this behavior a breakdown of fiscal responsibility misses its true nature. This is a stunning abandonment of generational responsibility. Washington is behaving like a father who steals his kid's credit card and goes on a bender.

Individually, America's parents make sacrifices every day to provide opportunities for their children; but collectively, the nation is now pursuing precisely the opposite course ? indulging itself even at the price of reducing opportunity for its children.

Bush and his supporters kids are fine. Do you really think they give a flying fuck about the rest of the US?

But if we didn't get the Weapons of Mass Desctruction away from the Iraqi's that destroyed the World Trade Centers, we'd not have a world left for the kids anyway.

Yea I heard Saddam had just gotten a shipment of rubberband guns and stink bombs. Thank goodness Bush intercepted them before he turned the US into a country full of smelly people with welps.

To be fair, here is what a right wing Republican had to say about Bush's spending habits today:

Leading Republican Sen. John McCain on Sunday berated fellow lawmakers for "spending money like a drunken sailor" and said President Bush was also to blame for pushing the nation toward higher interest rates and inflation.

McCain said Bush, who has never vetoed a spending bill, was in large part responsible for this year's spending levels exceeding prescribed caps of 4 percent growth, at a whopping 8 percent.

"We are laying a burden of debt on future generations of Americans. ... Any economist will tell you, you cannot have this level of debt, of increasing deficits without eventually it affecting interest rates and inflation," he added.
