what the fuck is going on with my computer
This shit is possesed..
It restarts all the time for no reason.. It will restart 3-5 times on BIOS MODE/BOOT UP It will also restart in OS MODE I scanned my pc for any known virus. None to be found. I am very concious of remote access programs such as SUB7 THEBEAST net-devil ect ect.. and I know its not that.. I would format C: but that wouldn't solve my computer restarting in Boot up.. I have even flashed my bios wtf is going wrong? System = Athlon XP 2100+ (non over clocked) 1024 MB's 2700 DDR Samsung (2x 512s) BIOSTAR 266 VIA Chipset Window XP PRO IBM 7200 RPM 123.5 GB HARDDRIVE. ATX 350 WATT Case/power supplie Volcano Thermal TAKE 7+ cooling Fan Exaust system on my computer. 128DDR Geforce 4 tornado. |
could be everything ..
it doesnt mean that you know sub7 makes you expert or being infected by other virus trojan just download spybot try update norton and try if not format c: |

Nothing to be found. I normaly can tell when I am infected by a tojan I have my own programs that I have developed that lets me know what ports have syn ack or any kind packets ect. Also my cpu will lag if. |
maybe you caught a new macro virus that's undetected by virus scanners
they have a nice habbit of rebooting constantly for fuck's sake |
COuld be any number of things but this sounds like a hardware problem not a software problem.
Open up the case. take a look at the RAM. Maybe pull the RAM sticks out and put them back in. A connector may not be touching or the ram is not in properly. Maybe one of the RAM sticks is faulty. I've had problems in the past also with CDR Player's sometimes the read write is to fast or to slow which will cause a sudden system crash. When the system starts up take a look at the amount of ram it is counting. If its not 1024 -+ a few then Ram is probly fine. if it like 512 -+ a few then only 1 stick is working properly. |
All I know is its pissing me of I can't even finish a project for school. every 20 mins "restart" then "restart"

I know they can be outright infuriating from time to time hehehe! |
it's dark..and cold lol.. I think I will buy Duster and rebuild my box tomarrow :thumbsup.
|
SOunds good but what ever you do dude.
DO NOT TAKE a DUST BUSTER oR VACCUUM CLEANER and try and clean the dust from the PC. You will short somthing out guranteed from the static electricity build up:) |
it still restarted!! blah.
I will get my trusty washcloth out tomarrow. I am still trying to finish my fucking PPT GRR! |
I was having problems with a computer of mine restarting, and in fact, starting up on its own!
It took me about a week, but I finally discovered that there was a program related to my anti-virii stuff that was scheduled to do daily tasks..once I disabled that..my computer stopped re-starting and has stayed off. Or..it could simply be haunted. That would of course be the most logical answer I think. :) |

Probably a remote access virus/trojan. Run a scan from a floppy.
|
My computer would "restart" period.
It wouldn't take the time to log-off or shut down programs..ect. Pure and simple like someone cutt the power off and turned it back on. |
ok it did it again...
The computer just restarts to boostraping mode/startup There is no Power loss or cut out its like its running exactly like normal.. Fan stays at same speed. |

do a seacrh for msblast.exe
and update from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en sound like some sorta rpc thing |
Switch your keys and mouse, one at a time and see if that stops it... then if not, try unplugging anything like printers etc and see, then plug one at a time back in until you find it. If those things don't do it, it could be the PS too. Sometimes they will have a short or heat up to where the power drops and poof.
Thats after you do the things above. You might try reseating the mother chip too. |
Hmm not good dude, I hope you get the problem sorted out!!
:thumbsup |
recently one of my friends had the same problem and after spending a week screwing around and trying everything
ynder the sun finally found out that a capacitor in the power supply had blown and although it would still start after a few minutes would just shut down again |
