Revsharers... how LOW can you go?

Would you still promote a 60% program if that program had no popups but retains well cuz it only charges $10.99 a month?

Just stating the obvious, weather or not you feel it means anything.

How much of a factor is low price to retention?

Of course the other standards are in place: frequent content updates, user interactivity, content upsells, etc.

Assuming that the content is mostly user generated or cheaply generated, does this biz model look workable?

Any existing models?

As long as it makes you feel better about yourself by putting down others.

Thanks, Escort, I appreciate the informative thread. I've always wondered about this business model and am looking at methods of reducing costs.

I appreciate the info!

Has nothing to do with putting you down, or making myself feel better.. Just the fact that everyone of your posts are questions to which if you dont know the answer to, you should find a job.

Sly_RJ 11-30-2003 10:37 PM

You're charging $10 per month, you're taking out $1.50 per transaction, take another $6 for the affiliates... you have $2.50 to cover hosting, content, and other work, plus profit. For this to be worthwhile, you would need to scale it big time.

hyper 11-30-2003 10:45 PM

everyone wants to make the most money for their traffic.

so you will always get people who will blast you.

from the topics of your posts it just sounds like your a cheap fucker.

Now to make real money, give them their $20 per signup
if you update your sites even twice a week your retention rate will be good enough to average 5 to 10 months.

the reason i say 5 to 10 months is your signup options should be this

1 month = $9.95
3 months = $29.85
5 months = $49.75

you will probably get alot of happy customers renewing @ 5 months

dont be afraid to compare your rates with the average paysite @ $30 or $40 a month and a tour that is comparable to theirs.

true, volume is the key

you need to master the art of shaving without shaving. pay $25 per $10 signup and people will signup and push you. just give them the odd signup here and there and say you dont shave, i think thats what most pps do.

Or reduce the other components in the mix. Host fees are going down, content (depending on your niche and interactivity level of your site) can be self or user-generated, tons of work can be outsourced to India etc. Plus on the revenue side, upsells, upsell plugins, etc factor in as well.

Very Taoist. Shaving without shaving. Interesting how certain pages can be set up that it actually strips off the referrer info after the ? symbol. Not shaving... more like an "accident" :1orglaugh

its got to convert very well though, i mean if its converting at like 1:500 how much can the webmaster earn? if for example hes getting 1.400 with a 30 USD PPS it would be hard to make him jump traffic.

Brad-Wishing 11-30-2003 11:09 PM

What Sly said.

You're going to be sucked DRY after processing, content, hosting etc fees. You'll be making nickles and dimes on every transaction.

Is that how it works? Kind of like a magazine with all their editors, staff, printing and distribution costs, etc. You trying to say an online biz cost more to run than a magazine? If so you have been brainfucked by all the endless bs that is spewed here. Try looking at who does the spewing. :1orglaugh
