Leasing a Ferrari/Lambo

If i put my company sticker/URL on the ferrari/lambo, does it qualify as a buisness expense write off (advertising)?

Uhh.

Actually, not that I think you'd something so tacky..

The guy who owns a few Outback Steakhouse franchises in Central Illinois has a really nice, Corvette yellow and sand colored hummer with a map of the Australia Outback painted by hand on it. Of course, it says "Outback Steakhouse" in a couple places.

Fucker looks sweet as hell like that. As much driving from one store to the other as he does, I'm positive he writes it off.

I think it would be safe to say "Probably not". :)

Maybe you can write off the precentage of the car that is being used for advertising, in this case like 1%, so yeah sure why not. :thumbsup

acctman 11-30-2003 07:39 PM

why not just register the car under your companies name.

Sly_RJ 11-30-2003 07:40 PM

Why are you asking here? Ask your accountant.

Cause for it to be a tax right off it needs to serve a purpose for the biz.

As for stickers for advertising, we tried for my online biz it did not work. There are however some types os bizes where it can be done. Speak to your accountant(s).

I'm still all about the Countach 5000s. I had the chance to get one a few years ago, but it was going to need a good 6k in parts to get it ready for me, after purchasing it. :(

It pretty much depends if you can talk who ever audits you from the IRS into believing it is for advertising. I see all these Hummers at Internext with the company name all over them. I would think they are written off as a business expense.

SPIKE326 11-30-2003 08:50 PM

I think the pricier the car, the more advertising has to be put on. When I see a companies hummer all I see is their advertisement, then I say "hey, that's a hummer", but when I see cars like a Celica/Rendezvous, I say "hey, that's a Celica/Rendezvous, oh and there is an advertisement on the back passenger window".

shot bj's in it and then sell or use the vids for a site. THEN you might haver a chance. it would be a prop then :)

I transport models in my personal vehicle. Therefore I'll be writing off my vehicle as a business expense.
