video capture card recommendations?

figure this would be a good place to ask, ive done research in all the usual places but for those who deal with the manipulation of video fotage for mpg presentation on the web (ya smut peddlers) what do you recommend as a good video capture card.

Typical output resolution will be 320x240 mpgs. I run a off the shelf Dell PC with most of the trappings. Input needs to be standard RCA, not firewire etc as the capture will not come from a camera but from a live video source....

any recommendations?

I'm assuming the camera is analog?

Look at te ATI brand of cards too. We've used them for years. They have RCA jacks on most. http://www.microcenter.com had some on sale and some discontinued 'Radeons' the other day when I was looking for something.

The only time I personally messed with it was to copy something from TV to play with editing. It captured it fine. :)

If you truly want to get HIGH QUALITY mpegs & avi (including real time as opposed to making the vids with software), then you need a card like Broadway Pro (http://www.b-way.com). Yeah, it's expensive, but it's worth every penny!

I use the card in 352x240 mode and have never had any problems with it.:thumbsup

Are you looking for an AGP video card with video capture on-board, or are you looking for a separate video capture card?

I have a separate PCI video capture card. This is it, never had any complaints, it has coax, RCA, mini, and super-video connections, and captures great. They're much cheaper now than they were when I got mine. :thumbsup
