Opinions on a site where webmasters trade/barter services etc...?

What format? Messageboard or auction type site? Looks like a good B2B type site. I'm interested in trading traffic for content.

Just floating ideas around at the moment, want to see what the interest is like and what opinions come up.

That's just a brain storming but; I think that site should track if the products/services subject to trade has been delivered and it might also have some kind of rating system to keep honest people on top.

Good idea but hard to get it working.

Steady webmaster traffic is very hard to get.

That's the only real problem I can see, but have a few ideas on how to get round that.

That would be quite cool. There was an awesome mainstream site like this a few years back called Ace Quote or something like that. People issued a tender offer then suppliers put forward quotes. It had a cool message board for each offer so that people could ask the tender for the full spec so that the quotes were correct.

The possibilities are endless. One can trade without having to spend any cash.

Here's an example: how to turn design labor into $$$

trade design for content

(build paysite)

trade design for traffic

(generate some revenues)

trade tour email list for more traffic

(generate more revenues)

trade exit traffic for more content

and so on and so on.... the possibilities...are ENDLESS!

Nothing I dig more than helping the small guy will little to no capital turn his hardwork and vision into REVENUE!

Nice idea but it seems everytime a webmasters posts on here that they want to trade content for a design they get slammed and flamed, so why now all of a sudden is everyone for it?

It's a fantastic idea. However the problem would lie in ensuring that both webmasters lived up to their side of the bargain. You would have to come up with some sort of enforcement system, or some kind of honor system.

Hey this is a good idea. I love to trade my services, especially for these rectangular pieces of green paper with pictures of old presidents on them. Benjamin Franklin is my favorite I try to collect as many as those as possible.

Anyone have a couple hundred of these and would like to trade?

go check the archives over on the ummm ... green ones board, several of us were discussing this same thing awhile back.
I'm not sure if it was before their board crash or not but I think gg or Jim were considering admining one, you can check with them.

anyway, lots of ideas went back and forth on it :)
