the reason i might be moving to austin is because right now it is one of the most logical steps to get me where i plan on being in my life plan. my parents are not moving. i'm not some high schooler, i'm grown.

Austin's not bad
6th street is cool and the warehouse district too.
I couldn't live there tho, the people are too friendly and it got on my nerves after while.

Austin was one of the best places i ever lived. It cultural and has a wide variety of people places and things to meet,see, and do.

It also has the best titty bars with the most beautiful woman! :thumbsup

If your life plan involves stepping through places you dread living, maybe you should adjust your plan? Not sure what you have against Austin, it seems like a nice college town with a good music scene, good arts, cheap eats, and strong tech industry. If you're going there with such a negative attitude, you're probably going to find the same attitude given back to you.

Yeah, our Tigers fucking ROCK this year! I doubt the BS...err I mean BCS...will rank us No. 2 though. Our schedule has a couple of easy games this year. But, for the record, I think we have the talent to kick anyone's ass this year!

Yeah, Austin's pretty cool, nap, you won't hate it. Lots of Okie transplants there, too, so you'll have company. ;)

Well it's kind of hard to explain. The Texas Ou rivalary goes on much deeper than just college football. It's damn near like the hatfield/mccoy fued. I will be able to deal with it(if i do move) like i have with everything else in my life. Adjusting the plan would kind of be like me telling myself that i wasn't able to achieve what i wanted to without taking the easy way out(i have a very competitive mindest). I don't have any negative attitudes, it's just like a smack in the face to have to move to texas #1, and of all places in texas Austin. If i do move then i will make the best out of it because i believe everything happens for a reason.

I suppose i could get the bad taste out of my mouth first by spelling it Texas instead of texas. :1orglaugh

i remember reading about the tigers before the season started and they were suppose to be championship contenders. what happend, i dunno but you all looked good. in my book you all def. looked a lot better than usc has.

i have an uncle who stays there. he is a doctor with his own clinic, and a girl who i used to date stays in austin as well. plus another one of my ex-girlfriends stays in houston and she loves to travel. so as far as women goes, thats already taken care of just in case:1orglaugh funny thats one of the first things i began to arrange when the thought of moving to Texas even looked like it might be a possibility.

By the way, you can legaly tint your windows down to 35% in Texas.

I've dated a few girls from Texas. Fun girls, like to play tough, and very pretty. My wife has dated some girls from Texas, too.

If you're going out there because you're transferring colleges or going to grad school, congrats. UT Austin is one of the top public university systems in the US.:thumbsup

Ah, I see. I live in Ann Arbor, went to UMich, which has a similar sports rivalry with Ohio State U, which extends beyond sports back to territorial disputes when the states were founded. After a football game last week, a group of UMich students beat a pair of OSU fans, one nearly to death, just for wearing OSU shirts. It's sad people take things that seriously.

Hopefully you'll look past that level of tribalism...look at Austin objectively, and I can't imagine you won't see that it's a great town, with a great school.
