Regarding MasterCard?s new regulations.

For example:
October 120 transactions on MasterCard
November 90 transactions on MasterCard
There was one chargeback in November for the transaction that was made in October.
So the question is:
Chargeback ratio in October?
Chargeback ratio in November?
Were there violations of MasterCard?s rules, regarding the fact, that from
October 1 charge back ration should not exceed 1%?

The chargeback ratios reflect the current months transaction volume against the chargebacks that are received that same month by the acquiring bank....regardless of when the charged back transaction originally took place. Transactions can be charged back up to 180 days after the date of the original transaction. Thus, one of the difficulties is that if your chargeback volume stays constant, but your transaction volume falls, your chargeback ratio is in danger of exceeding the thresholds.

If you're running a credit card payment processor, shouldn't you KNOW the answer to this question?

Actually, niche and specialty sites DO tend to have less chargebacks.

I was kind of wondering about this.

This analogy listed above also fails to take credits issued into account, something that is VERY important with Mastercard.
