      I own a "rate people" type site. Was kinda hard to start, but not exchangin traffic with other such sites and getting traffic from gogole. I have started with submitting it to dmoz.org

          I have a entertainment site in the form of entertainment other than pornography. I didn't do anything really, just word of mouth and "send this page to your friend" type stuff. It's fun.

                      I have a retail store on the Internet that does very well. At first it was just word of mouth but we ended up going with Google ads and that really boosted sales.

                              I'm building a pretty big site for my wife's mainstream business now.

                              Its a totaly different concept. Unlike porn, you can't just jack any traffic and expect to convert at least something. Unless the traffic is 100% trageted, its useless. You can sometimes sell a teen movie to an amatuer movie viewer but you can't sell a backhoe to a person looking for pizza.

                              My first shot is going to be links with other local business, links with national enterprises, google ppc. Also build from within, get customers to signup their email for discount newsletters, etc.

                                  i sell health benefits. word of mouth and buying traffic keeps it up and running. not a huge profit maker but a little something on the side.

                                          I have about 15 mainstream domains. Not all of them are developed or indexed yet but the ones that are are worth a few bucks a day. Mostly I just broker the traffic and reinvest into adult or other ventures.
