Has no one else problems to convert google ppc traffic at the moment?

Since the last google update my ratios have gone to total shit. It wasn't easy to convert their ppc traffic on adult ads before, but since the change it seems to be impossible to convert their shitty freeloader traffic (and yes I have the join price in the ad and I also use -free). Has anyone else also problems at the moment or is it just me? :(

Adwords take a WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE to perfect. But its worth it, just trial and error. Don't give up on it.

Are people in the top serps for your terms using the same sponsors you are?

I've passed this trial/error phase and the ads were working. Just since the last update all went to shit.
Last 1800 paid clicks (to different campaigns and sponsors) = 0 signups. Haven't experienced something like this before.

Only in one campaign, but he promotes a different tour.

The problem with the adwords is that everybody in the adultbizz is using it now ----> consequences: the rates of the key phrases going up and up and up, your ratio going to hell.
You really have to work within a nich to have really decent results.

Story of many promotion approaches on the Internet. Thank goodness I can cheaply hire guys to solely research new fresh pools of newbie traffic to promote to.

Yeah, everything in google is fucked up now - free and ppc traffic :ak47:

Things fucked up with adwords since they introduced the new broad keyword matching feature... Designed to fuck you out of more money for unrelated phrases you didn't choose.

A combination of that and more people clicking on adwords since they fucked up the listings last time out. Rather than the change removing spam there are now crap and irrelevant listings for loads of popular terms. This means not just more clicks to adwords campaigns but also much lower quality clicks are too. Rather than click because your ad interests them as before, they now click because there's nothing better showing up in the 'free' listings. Whilst it makes for a lot of clicks to adwords it also makes for crap ratios :(

ppc is more expensive than free BUT sometimes the guarantee of steady business is more important. Consider the up and down of trying to get into SERP's. Your business maybe cruising along one day and the next you're traffic is halved. The guaranteed clicks of PPC are sometimes worth the money because you have a steady traffic stream you can depend on to do business.

Good explanation, it also shows why my overall click amount has increased a lot.

Google ppc is shit now that they let everyone and their mom put the adword bars on their bullshit websites. They let them do random terms, or set as highest paying. Which gives the WORST clicks and conversions ever.

Vendot 11-28-2003 11:57 AM

Sure broadmatch is bound to get you some badly targetted traffic but if its a problem, just switch it off and use the keyword only feature.

As far as im concerned Adwords traffic just plain sucks. It doesn't even come close to Overture for overall conversions. At least Overture partners with the main "consumer" portals.

Bare in mind that Overture listings ARE your PPC links. On google, your PPC listings are extra side boxes which I personally dont think anyone really takes as seriously.

Its something to do with that which causes Adwords traffic to be so shit. Aswell as the aforementioned freeloaders.

basschick 11-28-2003 01:23 PM

on keyword searches only, i have much better conversions with adwords than any other ppc. on the other hand, the google surfers don't seem to be members who rebill.

WiredGuy 11-28-2003 01:39 PM

The last two weeks have been very low performing for me as well. Haven't isolated the reasons quite yet but its not from Adsense syndication since those are off on my accounts and I'm still ranked pretty well compared to others in my niches. Not sure whats going on just yet.
