Not a good day for it to be down for me.... their tech support is the worst I've ever seen except for IIC internet and it's a holiday so good luck.

Not that I have any faith in Candid, but why don't post the IP in question. CandidHosting.com is up and a few people I know that are on Candid are up as well. Maybe it's your server?

Very sorry guys, we lost a level 3 pipe and support is working it, I will keep you posted as more information becomes available. I will also see if I can find the IP for you but at the same time I am not going to get in the engineers way and slow them down!

I was down for a couple of hours but all is well again. You know, I got a good response from Tech support. I called them up and they told me what was happening and what they were doing about it.

I have no problem with these guys and have been with Candid for 3 years plus.

True enough not to have all your eggs in one basket, but Candid are certainly no where near as bad as people on here paint them.

Real hosting companies don't have significant downtime. Real hosting companies don't stay listed in spam block lists. Real Hosting companies respond to their client's support issues.

Time and time again I see Candid being criticised here, whether it's a percieved problem or a real one there is no denying that you'd need to be a mug to trust them.

(Im with a company that has a 100% uptime guarantee, the only downtime I ever see is when or if I reboot my servers.)

If you ever have a problem with Candid, just fucking call them.

You little bitches complain about "horrible customer service" but when one of their virtual servers go down and they get 40+ emails, what would you rather they do, answer all the emails or fix the fucking problem?

So, if you have a real problem just call them, they always answer the phone.

And if you are gonna complain about a little bit of downtime every couple months, buck the fuck up and go dedicated.

Candid does a good job.

I'm on the other side of the planet to Candid, and I find the easiest way for a reboot is to call them...

surely you can't be that broke... it's only a couple of bucks to phone them :)

I know what you're saying though, if it's not urgent just send an email.. I agree, but if it's critical and something's broken, well why not call them, it's quicker.

Was just waiting to see how long it was for that comment to come up. you missed the point then. Candid should be able to deal with all probs by email, just like other big hosts seem to be able to do. If you see my post above I said, this is the first time my sites have been down, I like candid and have been with them for a couple of years now. They are only getting better :thumbsup

no host is perfect, they should be able to handle the
emails as quick as other hosts , but if it's easier to call,
well just do it... :)

I've still got bits at rackspace too, but fuck me
they're soooo expensive it's a joke, not sure
how long I'll keep wearing those rackspace charges.
Mind you rackspace are the best hosts, just ridiculous
pricing.
