Sponsor Hosted Freesites (SHF): Would link lists actually list these?

Same problems with SHGs for TGPs, I think. Basically, you have webmasters rushing to be the first to submit a link list...same problem with content redundancy. Of course, this would be offset by frequent sponsor updates, but most sponsors don't update at a uniform pace.

If i was the link list owner yes i would, if a webmaster submitted them i wouldn't.

Yep, exactly like the SHG situation with TGPs. It poses the exact same set of issues: redundancy, quality, etc etc

Sites that trade traffic with each other may be hurt by this due to the issues you raised above. However, sites that grow their own traffic...its just fresh content.

i would say that it would make good filler, but it needs to be augmented by original sites in the list. :2 cents:

Sounds fair. I submit to 350+ link lists and am concerned about how "filler" might affect their user quality. That's all. Thanks for the feedback, guys!

If sponsors had a way to allow webmasters to put recips in the site and not have domain.com?l;aksjdf=a432543hahahaha234?2345234$lkj skdlaf etc crap in the url, I'd list them when submitted

350? sheesh, that's quite a bit. I just have 45. I used to have 90, but I got better listings once I rearanged and cut down on mirrors. All my mirors actualy get indexed by SE's now. If it werent for link lists being so time consuming to subit to I would prolly be up to a 1000 though, traffic is traffic :)

There's a way. Basically use directory specific labelling for webmaster links. Problem with this is that it is very intensive... scriptwise once you get a ton of volume or have tons of sites.

You're right. Dieselcash uses directory labelling with the trailing directory using the ccbill ref number. It's pretty quick and flawless though. But running recips in the mix would definately be intensive
