Mainstream is waking up

The more this get's to the general public the bigger chance we have of nipping it in the bud.

News article about Acacia and Universities

We need to get more exposure to it, I will be putting up a button on my site to inform people, any one else feel like doing the same?

It seems like the mere fact that they're reaching out to Universities and other institutions is a desperate struggle to produce some revenue stream.

Yes - I agree.
I've been actively blogging the Acacia issues since bumping into Far-L on another board about 5 months ago I think.

Yeah, cuz they realized that adult webmasters won't let themselves get fucked over easily. So they gotta find an easier target. :winkwink:

Yep - they're in a pickle.
When they told investors that the adult industry had money but was "fragmented" and would be basically a push over - but wasn't.

Now they're going after Universities (no money) for more "credentials".

The investors are tiring of the "promises".

I will not report to Acacia - will you?

I'm blogging your article Charly.

Working on my homepage now...

If it's already being done, please disregard the following ...

Maybe IMPA could hire a PR firm and feed the press more stories about how A****A is LOSING the battle to "pornographers" AND "Universities" are joining the fight as well!

This thing could be SPUN really well with the RIGHT Public Relations firm at the helm!

Public awareness and constant prodding by a well connected PR firm could easily tumble their stock again, as well as - make other companies that do business in this "space" aware of what's really going on - and maybe bring them into the frey!

:thumbsup

These companies SHOULD speak on behalf of the universities since it's mostly THEIR technology used to stream! Fuckin' corperate bastards could CRUSH A****A!!

"The company made no attempt to capitalize on its patents during the Internet boom of the 1990s, and has thus far refrained from approaching RealNetworks, Microsoft and other major players in the streaming-media industry."

Why should universities be an easier target? When I think of all the profs, phD and law students there I tend to think it's quite to opposite.
I mean they can give like all of their students an assignement for prior art research, court room strategies, .....

Just how many students do study computer science, marketing and law at UW?

Agreed, I think their first mistake was thinking we were a bunch of pussies, that you could open a porn site and the money flowed in and we were not a bunch of mean arseholes who fight every day for our living.

Then they decided to go after Universities, what were they smoking at that meeting? Thousands of free researchers, contacts with old students in Multi Nationals, sponsorship programs with wealthy benefactors, supplying large corporations with new staff, mountains of research, they can band together to share info/resources and a good profile.

I've seen some pretty stupid moves in my time but this compares with the worse. Or am I missing something?
