CHICAGO -- The Cubs added some power to their lineup Tuesday, acquiring Derrek Lee from the Florida Marlins for Hee Seop Choi and a minor leaguer to be named.

Lee hit .271 with 31 homers, 92 RBI and 21 steals last season for the World Series champion Marlins. Lee has 20 homers in each of his last four seasons and has 40 steals over the last two years -- the most by any first baseman in the majors.

Lee also is considered one of the game's best defensive first basemen, and he won his first Gold Glove this year.

Lee is god but I don't think it's monumental. If they get Tejada them they're looking decent.

By the way, do you think Red Sox are better off having ARod if it means trading Normar to Anaheim and Manny to Texas?

YES - but ONLY if they swing the deal for Curt Schilling
they would have plenty of offense with any 3 of those guys (hell, they have plenty witout all 3 of those guys), but they need pitching. They can get more hitters, but they wont win without 3 solid starters and a bullpen that wont self destruct. If they go with Pedro, Lowe and a cast of crap, they better pray that the Yanks lose Petitte, and have only Mussina, Weaver, the Cuban and some nobodies.

Dont bank on the Yankees going into next season with a weak pitching staff.
