How do i keep my cat out of the fuckin xmas tree?
The little furry fucker hides in the xmas tree, waits for the dog to walk past, and then pounces on it, does this wild multiple cat-slap thing on the dog's face then runs back into the tree... really pisses off my german shephard and i know its just a matter of time till the dog says fuck this and goes into the tree after the cat

Have a camera ready.
|
Electric fence.
|
different cats.. different tactics.
once I just threw the cat at the tree said, "you wanted it so bad here!!" never touched it again. I have heard of dipping the ends of the trees in tabasco sauce, keep the lights up higher and no tinsel since it screws up their digestion. Water spraying etc. what do you use now to keep them in line?? |
LOL Do you have your christmas tree out already??!!
|
Tie him to another tree :Graucho

Use a citrus or citronella spray on and around it.
Also.. please don't put tinsel on a tree in home with cats. It can cause major intestinal problems. |

It's not even Thanksgiving yet! Back home we always used to put ours out the day after Thanksgiving. I haven't had one since I moved out, but I think this year my roommates want one. I may cave in, who knows. Christmas isn't the same without snow.

When i was single, I had a little 2 foot tall tree, it came decorated out of the box, I'd set it on the bar maybe a week before xmas and it went back in the box the day after xmas. I dont even like xmas. |

My cat is 11 years old and still finds it funny to climb my Christmas tree!
|
staple it to the floor :thumbsup
|
Get the dog to act naturally: pee on the tree.
Cat won't go back :) |
post some pix here:thumbsup
cat's are really playful, its good to have them around. cover the sides of the tree with boxes of gifts so he won't play in that area. |
I gave up on live trees when I was a teenager for exactly that reason. The cats just think it is a big toy.
|
We anchor the tree with fishing line up high. If they don't pull the whole tree down, we can live with that.
Ours like to sleep in the branches. |
I know of two families who hang their tree upside down from the ceiling.

call AaronM - he knows how to teach cats:1orglaugh

Get scent deterrant. You can buy it in a can at most pet stores.. it helps in some cases, but not all.
|
hahahah nice, i use to have a cat/dog that did the same routine except the cat would jump onto the neck of my shepherd and hold on like it was a contest to see how long she could stay there.
too funny. |
buy canned air....spray it at him everytime he goes under the tree......he will come out like a bolt of lightening........it stopped my cats from going behind the dryer and knocking the dryer hose loose.:thumbsup
|
We use to have a BB gun when I was younger. They never got near it! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Well.
I know cat shit around the edges of the yard will keep skunks out. You could try some skunk shit :) |
Really hard task, past two years my cat has knocked down the tree from climbing up it. Get a guard dog for the tree?

Bissell makes air freshner spray and used to have a pine scented one. The thing is, Bissell sounds like an air dog for a compressor when you spray it. lol Our kitten was bugging us and the hubby grabbed that one day and sprayed it... all you have to do now is pick it up and the kitten is long gone.
We did the fishline and eyehooks growing up too. Always put the tree in a corner and tied it off 2 ways. All it can do is tip back then. |

It's funny.. I would of thought with all the cats in my house I'd have problems with the tree. Never have.
|
A Christmas tree is a wonderful thing to cats...
A new discovery with lots of moving things and places to climb.. I don't know of anything that deters cats from such an invitation unless you hid something in the tree that would scare the Hell out of it.. Wouldn't take long for ol' Felix to decide the tree wasn't so much fun afterall.. |

Mark your territory! Pee on it!
:1orglaugh |
You know that your picture is on a lot of websites :1orglaugh

Used teabags with a few drops of olbas oil. Its what we use on the flower beds anyhow as they can be blended in and dont do no harm.
On second thoughts it might make your tree look a bit funky unless you put tinsel or some other shit all over them :stoned |
Kill it! Cats are bitches anyway :) :) :)
