names randomly used to register "patch" domains

I was so pissed off a couple of weeks ago when I recieved 167 "Penis Patch" mails in one day I thought sheeesh this is way to much.

I tracked the deal to http://www.herbalmarts.biz and did a whois on the URL. The details where extensive so I called the phone number in Ireland and left a message on an answer machine, not expecting a return call well.....

On Saturday I got this call from an old Irish gentleman who was in the fact the name on the whois, although the address shown was a few blocks from his actual... strange... this old guy did not know anything about the deal and was no way a computer genius...

I felt sorry for him so I did a little more searching whilst he was on the phone.....

Seems there is a company in India that did all the registrations http://www.directi.com which was about right because in the company name on the whois they had used "Pvt" which is normally associated with Indian companies.

In a nut shell seems that these people are plucking names and addresses at random from some database, the old guy in Ireland had been bombared with calls, not so polite as mine from all over Europe.

I just hope he can get some sort of response from directi.com

you probably should report the domain to ICANN along with your story
