Porno blogs -- Viable alternative to TGPs and older porn content models?

Just looking at some of the blog lists out there it seems that porno blogs are on the rise. Definitely a good way to come up with a loyal fan base. However, the poorly thought ones risk turning their blogs into just another version of TGPs.

What are your thoughts?

If you need original custom blog writing, hit me up. If you need on point article posts (while of course promoting SHGs with your ref ID), we can do it.... IN BULK :)

Maybe I'd ask the question before someone beats me to it... outside of journalists who do blogs, do personal blogs really stand a chance of lasting for the long haul? Is blogging just a fad like parachute pants and 80's big hair?

I hope not, the content's fucking hilarious, deeply sensual, or just plain fun.

An example of a good blogocentric site is http://www.plastic.com
Post generated content and community-building at the same time.

Problem with good blogs is that it takes a lot of hours to maintain and police for quality.

Are you talking about a journal type blog? I use one in my site and I love it. It helps the members keep up with what I am doing without me having to write so many e-mails. Some times I post a teaser picture of a new set of pictures I am going to upload later in the week. So it does have some free porn content on i but not much. I use livejournal.com it is easy to use and you can link to others who use the same product if you want to. You can also let others post comments in your journal if you want to. It is customizable too.

Thanks, I plan to cash in on this :2 cents: :winkwink:

LiveJournal has some nice features. I use it for one of my blogs. What is your LJ name?

Adult Blogs definitely make for a better surfer experience than most TGPs which tend to be fairly one dimensional. If executed correctly, blogs deliver community, content, and link popularity in one continuously evolving package. The downside is that it is not for the lazy...because blogs live and grow based on content...content...content. Not rehashed free sponsor content but actual updated text, online diaries, reviews/journals, etc.

Also, due to the growth of scripters planting keywords in blogs to raise their Google rankings, a good blog needs some serious editing elbow grease. Little wonder that the better ones are run by people who used to or currently work in media.

Halcyon,
My live journal name is Sammy4u. Easy huh? Let me know what yours is and I will link you in my friends section.

Because of the voyeuristic nature of mankind, porn blogs are a SWEET thing to get going. Hit me up and I'll write yours.

Very few blogs make any money at all. The sex blogs are no exception.

In fact, fleshbot is getting lots of play and tremendous traffic, but it's the stepchild of gawker.com, and the founder admits that gawker, despite having huge play in NYC and elsewhere, grosses....

........less than $2k a month.

Fleshbot might be different, but at the moment, it's relying heavily on three sources of (modest) revenue:

1. SuicideGirls.com
2. AdultFriendFinder.com
3. Nerve.com/SpringStreet

There is a business model in there somewhere, but it's a long way off from showing its face.

Our Father, who blogged in heaven,
hallowed be thy blog.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy blog will be done,
on earth as it is in blogland
Give us this day our daily blog.
And forgive us our blogging,
as we forgive those who blog against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from bloggers.
For thine is the blogdom, the power and the owning. for ever and ever. Blog-on

Are there reliable news links to confirm this? Lots of assertions, lots of assumptions and no citations.

Someone might be trying to throw people off the money/traffic trail? Nahhhhhhhhhhhh, not at GFY :winkwink:

Ok emm.. I'm going to get a little harsh here ...

but what the FUCK do blogs have in common with TGPs!?!?!?

Maybe I am just a little bit confused, but a "Blog" is a journal. Its not a magazine and its not a TGP its a JOURNAL for people to type their thoughts in, link to places, share it with others and have people COMMENT on it.. What the heck does THAT have to do with TGPs?

You want a TGP with 50 lines of text per gallery, 4 galleries per page and COMMENTS from surfers? Whats the point here? Community building? Ok, so you want surfers messing all over your clean TGPs with links to ther places, stupid texts and flames? Or do you just love reviewing your sites 25 hours a day because you have so much time available still?

Sorry, but I do not see the connecting to TGPs here.. you really think surfers want great texts along with the galleries out of some reason? Do you want them to just keep coming back to your TGPs to read the texts or to actually eventually find a gallery they like so much that they just HAVE to signup to the site its advertising? I think I want the later.
