Anyone have experience in "Cyber Cafes"?
 

I live in a boom town where alot of people live in motels, hotels, camps etc.
The people who live in the camps out at the plant work straight days and come into town to spend a shitload of money so I think there is a market for something like this.. a large % of the people here have moved from other cities/provinces/countries.

Anyone have experience in this sort of thing? Is it worth it? Hard to run?

A close friend of mine ran one in a smaller city (without alot of disposable income...) and it failed.

80,000 people or so.

But, remember... this city didn't have alot of disposable income. I'm not sure if you can judge if it will work or not just based on size.

make sure you have wireless access accross all standards too. Very cheap and is a nice little feature =)

I used to own one in a small country town, did'nt make much but done ok though

Best thing to do would be to incorporate it with other things.. Not just a room with a few computers..

Set up a few tv's with sports channels.. Have popular music playing.. sell snacks.. yada yada..

Add some life to it and you should attract people..
