Sarah_Jayne 11-22-2003 04:16 PM

on the way home from Mexico, about 11 years old, in Chicago airport with a 10 hour layover. I did the best to avoid mexican water but made the mistake of having a 7-up canned in Mexico. I was seriously close to death in the airport, my mom considered taking me to the emergency room in Chicago and then I spent a week in about the same condition when we got home.

4 days straight no. This has got to be the wosrt bout with the Flu that I've ever had. Today is the first day I've even bothered to lift my head off of my pillow for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Go get your flu shots if you haven't yet...you don't want this one.

MrIzzz 11-22-2003 04:22 PM

for the last 2 months i've been fucked up with major esophugus probs, nasty acid-reflux turned into sinusitus, high blood pressure, lightheadedness, etc

i'm finally well enough to go out without major medicine, but i can't eat or drink anything fun for another month

Ice 11-22-2003 04:23 PM

once i had explosive diarhea and didnt quite get to the toilet in time. When it was over, the floor and walls of the bathroom had a bunch of diarhea on them.

Micah - Drizunk 11-22-2003 04:43 PM

mono. lost 30 pounds in 2 weeks. 107 degree temperature. slept 23 hours a day. lost the ability to pick up objects wieghing more than 5 pounds. mulitple hospital stays, tonsils swollen to the point where it blocked off my air passage.

i never want that damn disease ever ever again.

Beastiepoo 11-22-2003 06:11 PM

Wow, I must have a pretty good immune system. The worst I ever was (not counting anything that may have happened when I was a baby that I don't remember but my Mom tells me about) was when I was 18/19. I had viral tonsillitis about 3 times in less than a year. I went weeks not being able to swallow and having really high fevers. I was pretty sick but nothing like has already been described.

chodadog 11-22-2003 08:16 PM

Flu. The real flu. The real "fuck me, i can't move my limbs" flu. I've only ever had it twice, though.

BradShaw 11-22-2003 08:18 PM

I had a twisted colon a few years ago, took 3 months to get diagnosed, and 4-6 months to get back to 100%.

Was diagnosed with H pylori Thursday (bacteria that eats the lining of the stomach). Talk about pain! thankfully they diagnosed it and got me on meds right away so only about 36 hours of agony. Left house today for first time in 3 days.

Krome 11-22-2003 08:19 PM

I had total dehydration and full on sun stroke in Tunisia....anything I ate came straight out and I nearly crapped my kidneys...

Why 11-22-2003 08:19 PM

wasnt really sick. the night after i had surgery, i forgot to get up in the middle of the night to take my pain meds. i woke up screaming. less then 24 hours after a surgery with no pain meds in you is a bitch.

sick... i think i had scarlett fever one time, and that was pretty bad, i had a temp of 103+ (f), and was still wrapped in tons of blankets like i was freezing cold.

ZoiNk 11-22-2003 08:28 PM

Results of Celiac disease and not knowing it for over 5 years. Constant pain. Body not absorbing any nutriets, and much of anything. Things move through the body sometimes even whole the whole way through after 30 mins of eating them. Yea, I felt like I was slowly dying. Less and less strength. Took years of tests for them to diagnose it, and fucking 1:130 - 1:150 ppl have it. Damn :BangBang: doctors.

Chicken pox. Caught it from my kids when I was in my early thirties. It barely affected them, almost killed me.

I have a vague memory of not knowing who my wife was, or even where I was, fire fighters in my apartment reviving me and rushing me into an ambulance. Having to drink litre after litre of water to rehydrate. Can't remember too much, but it was nasty.

Thanks for this, I would have thought bottled products of large branded companies would be safe.

Furious_Female 11-22-2003 09:08 PM

Chicken pox when I was 13... it was horrible!!

Then I had an allergic reaction to a medication, fainted and was taken to the ER by ambulance. Broke out in the worst hives... I could have died if my tongue swelled up :(

thatdykeliz 11-22-2003 10:03 PM

A Urinary Tract infection when I was 14/15...I stayed out of school for a week, thought I was doing better and went back. We were having a party for something in one of my classes, and as soon as I saw the food all over the tables, I was running for the door to the sidewalk, just KNEW I was gonna barf up my shoes.

Next thing I know, the whole class is standing around me and the school nurse is shining a penlight in my eyes -- I went outside to barf and instead I passed out, hit my head on the sidewalk and knocked myself out...got a slight concussion on top of it all. :thumbsup

Honeyslut 11-22-2003 10:22 PM

My sickness that I would get every year ended up being asmtha. It had my blood pressure up to 180 over 100 last year. I thought I was dying.

Amazing what a little allergy precription and an inhaler can do

:321GFY Blue Shield and all my doctors I have had the last 15 years besides my new doctor of ONE year !

maxjohan 11-22-2003 10:32 PM
