4MB of RAM!!! WOAH!!!

tootie 11-22-2003 12:06 AM

I remember. But I also remember my dad getting an Atari computer when I was about 5 and we got our first Commodore 64 when I was 8 or 9. I really loved that C64.

gornyhuy 11-22-2003 12:06 AM

The 486 comes with a 5.25 " drive! Alright!

Man, just think in 10 years we are going to look back on a Pentium4 with Hyperthreading + 3Ghz + 800Mhz FSB + 7200 RPM 200 Gig hard drive +21" Flat Panel with the same amazement and laughter.

Hard to fathom.

oldtimer 11-22-2003 12:09 AM

bump for the morning/afternoon crew.

Go think about it.. 20mb harddrive..
If you'd use them as of now you'd need 20 of those disks in RAID0 only to store your freakin' pagefile.sys!

20MB is like.. nothing nowadays :)

MattO 11-22-2003 01:06 PM

I owned a computer store from 89-93... that Tandy price is out of control. I was building clone systems for half that, but even those prices seem ridiculous these days.

I still have a storage unit full of old pc parts. Fuckin' museum.

konduct 11-22-2003 01:06 PM

those days are LONG gone. :thumbsup

jimthefiend 11-22-2003 01:07 PM
