I have something that must have auto installed itself into browser?

When I type a domain that doesn't exist, i.e. kjhdhkgdkghsdfjkge97.com

I get http://www.myhandysearch.com/ everytime.

Anyone know how I can get rid of this?

Yes use any of the spybegone products, But another thing you should do is.

Go to each of these folders

c:

c:\windows

c:\windows\system

c:\windows\system32\

right click in the folder and arrange icons by last modified then find out what is new in those folders.

you should find a few new html files as well as some new exe's

Now be carefull what you delete, but also be aware that most of these new trojans/hacks are installing smtp servers so you can be used as a proxy to send spam thru.

Also let us know what you find and post it here


also look in your hosts file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and see if anything new is in there

I was looking for PRAWNS and i made a typo :)

Some of that spyware has the jump on spyb ot and all other spyware removing software. Those programs only eliminate a good portion of the spyware.

delete your command.com and you will be fine after next reboot
