fitness people (those looking to lose weight / weight lifters)
whatcha think of this idea...
i've never seen a site like it before and i think it'd do very well. i go lifting 5/6 days a week, been doin it for a bit over 3 years now.. and i've notice a lot of people carry journals and write down everything they do, routines, exercises, weight, reps, etc etc... it'd be a site that would help you easily track your routines, exercises and overall progress... heres how it'd work (this is just coming from the top of my head so..) a user signs up, logs in, and enters in their basic routine (3 day routine, 6 day routine, etc etc), and all of the exercises they currently do... then once they create that... they can enter in their first entry, where they fill out their current weight, protein / carb intake, and their reps / weight that they do for each exercise...and you can enter in these entries after every workout, after every week, or after every month, it'd be up to you... then you'd have your own graphical / statistical chart page that will track the progress of the different aspects of your routine (ie weight, reps, weight used, nutrtion, etc etc) throughout the entire span of your first entry, to your last entry... there'd be an overall analysis chart, and a more specific chart for each body part and each exercise... it'd be a linegraph, or a bar graph with different lines or bars for weight, reps, weight used, caloric-protein-carbs intake.. it'd help real well to see your gains over a period of time, and you could also browse other user's analysis charts and gain ideas for routines, exercises, and nutrition. i'd just need several certified fitness professionals to help construct the site as specific as possible i think it'd do pretty well, whattaya think? (and no i dont care if anyone steals the idea, cause whatever i make i can guarantee will be better) |
no interest eh? you LAZY BASTARDS!
|
I think its great....but would need to be free. I would join if it was free.
Maybe incorporate pictures also. |
i think it could do well if it was affiliated with some big gyms
something to thing about |
could be a good idea, but the thing is when i used to bodybuild, i kept a written training journal with every rep, second of cardio and every bite of food. i think most serious people write it all down as they go. what advantage would there be to then go home and type it all over?
for people losing weight, this could be a good thing. |
Good idea... I'm in!!!

I have used a quite few different programs (software) that do just that. One of the best I have used is the food processor from Esha Research http://www.esharesearch.com/ .. It's pretty spendy. I've used a few PDA based programs as well. It would be cool if there was an online version that let you compare your results to other people as well as collaborate on goals etc. You could even throw in a PDA synchronization tool. Take the PDA to the gym with you and use it as you workout then synchronize the PDA with the online site. Could be a very dynamic fun site with endless features and ideas. Unfortunately most people can barely get in the gym, so all the added steps may be difficult for people to complete.

Interesting idea but needs a bit more research in regards to the current diet sites out there now to see if its workable or worth the development time.
I doubt any real body builders would use it because they would probably want it a bit more customizable than it would be. |

good idea but you will need to post pictures of naked women in order to interest me any further

Sounds Good: Doesnt seem too well thought out though from the viewers pov...What will 'attract' people and what benifits will be made avaliable?
Note: anything that seems ediary like, most people I know (including myself) stay away from it... |

this would not only keep track / records of what you did and when... but it'd ALSO give you a bunch of statistical information using all of the data you entered from the time you started, to your latest entry... it'd output different graphical charts that'd measure strength, weight, endurance (for those of us who do cardio), and all of the other things that can possibly be measured.... so you'd have your very own personalized section... other users for example could use an advanced search feature... where they enter in their bodyweight (optional) and it'd find other people of similar bodytypes, who have similar goals.... and it'd list out the people and you can view their charts, and see what exercises they do, and see if they're making progress so you can gain ideas to apply to your own routines. thats what i have in mind.. |
I'll use it!!
ps - let me know if you need any before pictures :winkwink: |
shut it....
if you wanna loose weight, quit eating so much and work out... everything else is pop-culture... if you wanna 'chat' about it, get on Opera or hire a fucking shrink.... otherwise shut your pie-hole and start sweating with the oldies... but yeah lets see the gym :P |
Mot a bad idea at all, but kind of a nuissance if the person has to come home or work after his workout and enter all this data into his user info everytime he works out. If it can be worked out...no pun intended with the gym in question then that would be a good idea...some kind of PDA that the gym member can enter his data into after each excercise and then the data is automatically downloaded or entered into his profile that would be a good idea.

I'd never touch that crap...but it would top off the theme huh? |
It's a good idea, but wouldn't you have to write the shit down anyway to get it from the gym to the computer? Unless you work out with a laptop.

damn people lay off the drugs EDIT: it doesn't serve as something that tells you how much weight you should do, its serves as a place where you enter in all of the reps / weight / exercises you did (easily), from there it helps map out your progress / weakpoints... so all the user has to do is ...remember... what they did, not all that hard. |
