why do so many small paysite owners put their promotional galleries on a seperate domain from the site they're promoting?


for example if the site is called sexygirls.com and they put all their galleries on sexygirlies.com, who do it like this?

is it just for organizing your bandwith usages or something?
I'm just wondering the reasining behind it.

Your paysite server has to be 100000% reliable and you often pay top $ for that hosting.

On the other hand if your promo material goes down for a few hours, it won't damage your biz anywhere as much.

Good point. Server loads from the SHGs might slow down the main site resulting in pissed off surfers cancelling.
