All those people that buy books from me titled

"How to use the internet"

BlackCrayon 11-20-2003 07:52 PM

they should at least do their research and use email addresses that are used with paypal lol. idiots.

Odin88 11-20-2003 07:53 PM

lol, kinda reminds me of the ebay scam that I read about before. Apparently it is quite amazing how many idiots fall for it.

Smokey The Bear 11-20-2003 08:06 PM

You will always trick a few people regardless of how stupid you make of a story .

Thats the same old scam that was passed around 2 years ago nothing new or elite about it, just a diff website/email.

I hope enough people DO get scammed so they finally shutdown paypal, because they are a bunch of thieves anyhow.

I have read some of the horror stories on the paypal sucks website and let me tell you alot of these people lost a shitload of money. I am very cautious now reagrding anything via paypal

Small trans are fine but larger ones I prefer doing it via wire or company check

Nima 11-20-2003 09:00 PM

I never had any problems with paypal. The only time my money froze was when it was a few thousand which they cleared after confirming it was all ok, but after that I simply stopped doing any transfers over $1500 and nothing has happened anymore. I also think it depends how old your paypal account is and how much you have usedit and what kind of transactions you havemade. If you just signed up for paypal and make a $2000+ payment I can understand paypal would feel suspicious and find out if the right person is making the payment.

That one is not the scam, that one with the attached file is a virus (.scr file), don't run it unless you want infected!!!

CDSmith 11-20-2003 09:41 PM

I got that too about 2 weeks back. There is a yahoo address in the return path (look in the email properties).

I reported them to paypal's abuse department.

I've had no problems with paypal in what, 3 years?

BlueDesignStudios 11-20-2003 11:31 PM

It's ok, I entered my CC details so my account won't expire

Adultnet 11-21-2003 12:39 AM

by the way .scr files open the same as .exe files :BangBang:

Why . If i go to a bank and deposit 25,000 and the next day i come back and withdraw 5000$ they dont say .. " we dont trust you were gonna hold your money for a few days/weeks/months/years "

Totall bullshit. They use your money like all other banks . Do they pay you interest when they lock your account. NO They steal it and use it themselves until you complain. Totall bullshit scam artist setup. Its like a ponzi scheme only worse. Paypal got ripped off early on by offering the money to signup new customers when they didnt think the idea thru . they lost alot of money and had to make it back up quick. They did so by weeding out clients with large amounts of money and waiting for a lawyer to contact them or people to complain . Then they delay and delay sent it to arbitration and basically make you play the waiting game until your either fed up and stop trying or contact a lawyer and sue them. The problem is they have your money . SO they can hire a lawyer with your money meanwhile your broke and they have your money. If you have money with paypal ,just wait till you get over 10k in your account and watch as they pull the same trick on you. Suddenly your account is suspended pending further investigation. Meaning AT YOUR EXPENSE AND TIME.
