3D Render... what do you think?
|
why are you burning your money?

Its good, but the bills need texture. They look too uniform. And the little bands around the bills look a little too flat. The fire looks good, though!

I created some stuff in 3d a few years back. I used 3dmax and Maya mostly. A friend of mine is pretty good with SoftImage. |
no fucking way that bills render should take 4 minutes per frame man. just no fucking way.. As said before you are either doing it on a 486 or you need to learn a bit more about rendering before wasting weeks on a render.. I just through something up just like that, same quality and it was going at about 6 seconds/frame on my p4 1.7 ghz machine on 3d max 5..
|
I havent touched a 3D program in a long long time.. but here's some of my work...
http://xxxdesign.net/gallery.html and http://xxxdesign.net (robot on main page) using 3dmax and brazil for render :winkwink: |

machinegunkelly, look cool. Really nice work. Keep that up. I actually went to college and took Visual Effects and Digital Animation. We worked on Flint, Shake, Combustion, Maya, and XSI. Since I left college I haven't done too much, so on weekend and so, I try to still do some stuff. Check out the Maya Learning Version, it is free to download and has full functionality. I think it watermarks the images though, on the right hand bottom, but who cares. Just to learn it is good. |
those are wicked GFX, how long did it take you to make the burning $$??? what program do you use???

Btw...I was just looking over this again...and was noticing that the glow from the fire wasn't reflected in the surface on which the bills are resting. Might wanna look into that ;)

Here is a render of an older project. Had problems with the rocks, since they are modelled individually. Ah well, and my computer got too slow to handle it all. Once my new computer is put together, I will fix it up and finish the scene. |

Another "older" render :) I just wanted to make a rock, test my shader on it... ah well |
You guys havnt seen anything cool like this weird stuff..
http://www.3dluvr.com/plecxus/workinproj.html one of my good friends did most of that work in Lightwave and is now working in Maya on some Star Wars Hush Hush projects :) that stuff is pretty old but still some pretty whacky shit :) |

That is some nice stuff. I need somebody to draw me a simple.. creature... Front, Side, Top, Bottom.. hehe.. I can't draw.. but would like to try to model one! |
what you an do if you cant really draw is buy some Spawn action figures of anything Todd McFarlen makes. or for that matter any action figure and learn how to model it. if you need a background image ref just take pics of the front top and side..

well, modeling is obviously the toughest part.. Do you have some exemple of organic modeling..? Like characters? For those who modeling is their week spot, like myself, you can still do nice things if you concentrate on textures/lighting and render... Here's a series of simple objects, mainly cylinders put together while putting some extra attention to textures/lighting and render... http://xxxdesign.net/tv.jpg |
Sorry, but I have to spam...
Jeff Lew has a cool series of How-To instructional videos. http://www.divx.com/jefflew/ It's animation, not renering, but they are interesting none the less. |
