US Dollar vs. Euro = LOST INCOME
Being located in Europe, I lost 42% of my income over the last 2 years just because of the decline of the USD. Shouldn't paysites start selling in euros instead of dollars? I think I'd like to increase my memberships to 39.95 euros instead of $39.95
Will signups and rebills decline and will chargebacks increase? Post your ideas please! |

No american will want to pay in euro's
|
You are probably right so why not charge $49.95?
If you add 20% to $39.95 you get $47.94 Too expensive? |

Yup, because of the euro i lost at least 1/3 of my income over the years. That hurts.

Sucks for us Canadians too.
$7000 US today is worth approx $2100 less in CDN$ than it was a year ago. |
Maybe you guys should move to the US.... if all your income is USD..

$50/month memberships are extremely hard to give. Most of the time the sponsor uses free trials and cross sales to achive this kind of billing practises. They result in higher CB % and your site should justify the high membership cost in the eyes of surfers. In this industry the best paysites charge $15-29 at most ,while the crap, worst ones start from $35 and go up to $50. This is like a universal rule |
Move to the U.S.A. and quit complaining :)

I don't think this problem is going to go away for some time.
The current tariffs the Bush admin has on some imports will soon be counteracted with billions of dollars in counter-tariffs and fines - Importing from America will then cost more - This too will have an effect on the dollar. I think the problems in certain sectors of USA industry are beginning to suffer badly now - Wine growers are turning huge chunks of land back to dirt because of over-production and other reasons - Simply changing to Euro for memberships will cost the webmaster more - Few Americans will understand what the Euro is, and those that do, most probably would not purchase memberships because of the price. There is an answer to this problem, though - Create more sales - (!) |
If you only charge US$40 to EU members, it isn't more expensive for them, than US$30 from the past. In euro's it's exactly the same (or even less!).

I "suffer" with the rest of ya... but let's be real, 3 years ago when the dollar was at an all-time-high against the euro who was the beneficiary?
You and I - the ones that were paid in $$$. So quit complaining - this kind of market fluctuation is normal. Concentrate on what will differentiate you from the competition - better service, lower prices, etc. Currencies fluctuate all the time - if you want to make money from the fluctuations - go to FOREX :BangBang: |

It would NOT be $50 for 15 from AEBN. $50 at AEBN would get you 500 minutes of streaming video. |
