The American people have survived every President and every Congress in our history and will survive the current President and Congress...and will continue to prosper...for at least the length of your worthless life.

I guess you could blame Reagan for this whole mess.
Dating back to Lincoln, an American Prez died every 20 years or so in office. That streak was stopped in the 80's (remember Ronnie getting shot back in 1981 and surviving?) So, if Hinkley had been successful...it would be gw's time now. But who belives in stuff like that?:helpme |
Yeah,
Bush is likely the worst pres. the U.S. has had. His foreign policy is to piss off an bully people. His domestic policy is to terrorize and call witch hunts against his own citizens. He is a bigger scam and sham then some of the people who post here. Not to mention, he is slowly messing up other countries as well. Overall, he gets an F- as a president. Absolute lies and filth come from him and his cabinet. What I want to know is who these mythical people to vote for him and approve of him are. I haven't met one... Not since the day he won/cheated to win. |
Funny, our military was being "slashed" in the Clinton years but conflicts and deployments were being doubled. For once it is nice to see a Pres. (not just Bush) but any Pres. take care of our military members by raising pay and living conditions. Granted no by much but at least it was something...

And don't forget his taking money from soldiers from the first Gulf War won in court as another example of his great support of the military. |
Well,
The military was not exactly slashed in the Clinton years, funds were being used differently. Deployment was not being doubled. Soldiers and military personal were not as active in those years. Currently, I am all for taking care of our soldiers. They are not the ones that I have a problem with. Bush wants more the military because he is putting them through a nightmare in Iraq. More and more of them are getting killed. Many are depressed. Many have committed suicide. If that's what you call taking care of soldiers... Then I guess Bush has treated them so well, then less people are joining... More are quitting and saying they will NEVER return. Just wait until the active numbers drop. Retention will be low according to most surveys. |

Ok, FIRST off...I'm not a Bush fan at ALL... Secondly, what planet do you live on? I was in the military for 12+ years, starting in the Reagan era...all through Bush 1, and all through Clinton... and YES Clinton did slash the fuck out of the military.... reality check... PS, our ops tempo rose a fucking TON and the cash was through the floor...people were leaving at 18 years cuz they didn't want to deal with that crap anymore... so please, refresh my memory on how fucking wonderful it was.... :feels-hot PPS: I do agree with you on one thing, this second dealing with Iraq has been totally fucked on many levels... |
Bottom Line - Bush Sucks! And if you're a pro Bush pornographer, you're either an idiot, or just a wannabe pornographer (which means you're still an idiot.)

My disseration was 195 pages comparing the expenditures on defense from administration. Your thoughts on the matter like many others focuses on defense spending solely in relation to soldiers, tanks etc. Bush and Clinton defense numbers were not that different ulitmately. The funds were used differntly. There was not a slashing going on as you describe it. Did it occur to you that he is raising the standard because everyone wants out? No one wants to enlist? Numbers have gone to shit? You talk about people wanting out when Clinton was there because the pay sucked? On pay that sucked, Clinton was able to retain at a better pace than the one or Pres. is on. By the way, thanks for serving. I respect the men and women in the armed forces. I agree with you that they deserve more. I just get aggravated when people say Clinton cut defense and military. It's just not true. It's like the budget surplus. It was easy to call a surplus when it never was. The Slashing appears that way when it really wasn't. Deployment was up... Mostly on peacekeeping missions in conjunction with the U.N. in most cases during Clinton's time. They are much more thinly spread now, and much more active. I have friends that are still active in the military who said the difference between being deployed, and sent to your death in a conflict make for vastly different circumstances. P.S. I used to teach poly sci |
I did not say I was a Bush fan... Just my thoughts as to what happened when I was in the service during the 1st Bush and through Clinton. I have a sister who is still in and go on what she has said the military is like right now!
Yes you see stories on the news about soldiers in Iraq who are not happy. But I bet you could find 2 for every 1 of those who are proud of the job they have done in liberating that country from an opressive regime that would not have ended with the death of Saddam just got worse with his sons. And not to be little our Guard since when I was Active we appreciated the sacrafices they gave for being called up, but a lot of them have a hard time dealing with the fact they leave nicely paid jobs for sucky government pay and have to split from the family life for a year or more. I give cudo points to the companies that stand by the guard members when they are called up for duty.... /rant off V |
P.S. As a smut master its hard to be republican....:2 cents:

and you haven't seen nothing yet
