What's a better format for compatility for movies?
 

wmv or mpeg?

i think mpeg is more the standard.

Windows Media is now available on the Mac and Solaris platforms as well - pretty good market coverage.

Definitely mpeg.

If you can offer both, that's better though. Dial-up and slow connection people will appreciate the other more.

What about DivX?

The smartest thing you'll ever do is offer multiple formats, WMV, MPEG and MOV. As far as most compatible across all platforms and computers mpeg is the way to go.

you are right , no doubth but its a lot of work to do....
we offer mpgs and I had just a few requests for different formats

If they want the content they will goto the format of your choosing so long as you provide links to the needed Viewer.

Thats a fact.
TGP/MGP's have proven that.

DivX isn't free for commercial applications.

id say mpeg by far across the board, its used by way more people compared to anything else.

and for the people that say divX hell no. not to many people have the codec installed on their computer.
