Nov. 18 ? Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh may have violated state money-laundering laws in the way he handled the money he used to buy the prescription drugs to which he was addicted, law enforcement officials in Florida and New York told ABCNEWS.

A conviction on such charges in Florida would be a first-degree felony, punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
I wonder how some of his past comments like all criminals look like Jesse Jackson will play in the bighouse?

hyper 11-18-2003 11:53 PM

i suggest you buy stock in soap on a rope

Dawgy 11-18-2003 11:53 PM

They don't call it Camp Fed for nothing. Meanwhile..... the thousands of people who languish in prison because of Rush's wholehearted support for mandatory drug sentencing for (often victimless) drug-related offenses are left to rot in the Big House.

difference is he SOUGHT out the clink....

had he spent it with some lawyers to preplan his stunt it most certainly have had the possibility to turn out differently...

however, I'm STILL fucking in shock that he got locked up and that we lock up people for drug USE...

isn't addiction a diagnosable illness in the DSM? wtf is wrong with our country if we can't rely and act upon sound data?

I love in the last part of the article where his attorney says these possible charges are just because people want to see his show off the air. He needs to get over his big white ass, and realize he is a felon, and it is not about his show it is about the crimes he committed and the punishment that should be doled out to him

I don?t know Noel Bush went to jail in Florida over a much smaller amount of prescription drugs. Her daddy is the rich Republican Governor of the state, and her uncle is the rich, idiot President of the United States.

What are you talking about? Noel Bush was "sentenced" to rehabilitation. She got caught a second time while she was in rehab but I didn't hear about any jail time. Please post a link if you've got one.

She was forced to go to rehab because she was in the Florida Criminal Courts. I can guarantee you that type of rehab is lot different than what you get at the posh spa that Rush went to.

The difference is, if Florida is pursuing him on laundering charges, Florida will be the one incarcerating him. BIG difference between Federal charges and State Charges. It would be best for Rush to push for a Federal Idictment of himself, which would be easy as he could just say he did used some of the money outside of Florida. Under all circumstances you want to be charged and prosecuted on the Federal level.

Florida prisons, especially in the area of the state where he will be tried, are not a place you want to be!

Rush deserves to be tossed in the click and left to rot with the people that he has talked shit about for years.

See how many brothers are going to be nice to you after the racist statements towards black professional athletes.

Toss him in the worst prison you can find and let him scream like a little bitch for mercy.

Rush - dont drop the soap.

The USA is so screwed up with its jail sentences, I mean you do 1 bad thing wrong and they will bend you over and rape you with a 10-20 year sentence.

Jail times are just too long for a lot of things in the USA.

If that was Australia you'd get 2-3 years max, a fitting punishment for the crime, but in America the sentence doesn't have to fit the crime they just fast track it to make it as bad as possible and send the people away for life.

That is a good point, and one reasons we have such harsh sentences here in America is because conservatives like Rush advocate things like zero tolerance, a war on drugs, and long jail sentences for non violent offenses

This boils down to the mind set of the USA being that government needs to keep people in line, instead of people knowing how to live their lives. Most people violate a whole stack of laws without even knowing it because of the massive restrictions placed upon most Americans.

Money laundering, structuring, etc. etc. are just another way to enact forfeiture laws.

Check out the Federal points system for sentencing for a wake up call on how the government works. If you have never had any friends or associates caught up in the system you will understand very quickly why you are doomed once 'The Man' starts racking up the points against you.

This is all just bullshit, hush limbaugh isnt going to spend a day in jail. His buddies control both the federal govt and the florida state govt law enforcement, not to mention he has many millions of dollars to spend keeping his sorry ass out. Anybody that actually thinks he is going to do any time at all is dreaming, he wont even be charged.

Depends who wins the next election. If he does infact get an indictment sent his way it will not hit a Federal or Florida State court room for over a year. His friends are just as powerful as his enemies.

He might want to fire up EIB1 (his jet for those who don't know) and head for Argentina.
