They make 30% of my money, but i have seen that drop over the past 6 months with all these toolbars that block them.

and you same dickheads gave companys like cashquest shit when they wanted to launch a pop up blocker program and let webmasters make money off of something that was coming to the masses any way.

The next version of IE is going to have a pop up blocker, which is going to have almost total market penetration... I can't believe people haven't made more of a fuss about it.

So IE is finally getting remotely as advanced as Opera. They just need to intergrate a non-bloated shitty email client and fuckloads of useful toolbars that don't clutter everything up.

But fuck man, sometimes my exits have made double what the main page makes.

I tell Bill to pull that option everyday. What else can i do?

I dont' use pop-ups, cuz I hate them, and I wouldn't be able to see them cuz I disable them, and don't really feel like putting that shit on my sites :2 cents: I know how much I hate them, that I won't use them on sites!

there is a way to get around the google bar blocker. check out the signup page of www.lightspeedgirls.com ... then close the window.

This is just another fine example of the week being exterminated. I love it. Makes my popups more meaningful.

Indeed, it is just another change in the business environment... but like it or not, they do make a lot of money. Most PPS sponsors are going to lose at least 10% of their income from no pop ups, and that's sure to affect affiliate payouts.

I agree with you there. I wouldn't subject someone else to something that I personally can't stand. I've been blocking them with Mozilla and Opera for over a year now. However, I notice that in IE, even hotmail.com opens a pop-under. I wonder what MS will do about that. :)

Hopefully next they go after spyware. The spyware problem is much bigger than annoying pop ups.

The new IE Explorer coming out will have a popup blocker built in.

I pop one window with an ad to one of my other sites and only one ad. I get a CTR of 32%, why the hell would i want to make the 68% of people that leave my site without clicking my pop happy?? I do not agree with programs that pop 4 and 5 windows, but 1 or 2 is fine by me.

Ok, I don't mind one popup, but this industry has proven time and time again that it can't and won't regulate itself, and its members love to break the rules. So the rotten apples have spoiled it for the rest of the barrel. So the responsible advertisers are getting screwed due to the overzealousness of some other advertisers. Ah well. On to the next 'thing'.

Weird, I got the newest one 2.0.102 and I get the popup (trial offer).

Yet the 4th and 5th popups still make cash. I say let people block them, if they don't want them they would never click them and sign up anyways.

The neverending ones piss me off, where you close one popup and another one opens, and it is just a never endind cycle!

there are ways to have popups even when the surfer uses popupblockers. As revenge i'll double my exits.

2.0.102 DOES popup from that lightspeed page. But it blocks every other popup I've encountered. Must have something to do with the way the js is called in there.

I guarantee the microsoft version will be tighter than that.

I don't see how the web can continue to function as it is without popups... Think beyond porn sites: many js menus, regular links, flash sites, java applets, document pages, audio stream pages, etc are fundamentally designed to open a new browser window.

I hear you guys bragging about "other ways to popup" but microsoft isn't going to put some shitty script blocker on top of existing browsers, its going to block the fucking window call. No getting around that.

the LS popup is popped in frames. Not exactly sure how it's done, but it definitely has something to do with frames.

I am not too worried about the popup blocker from M$... there's gonna be tons of exploits to find ways around it. The regular JS methods probably just won't work anymore.
